Good for you Patrice!! I strive for your attitude. Just live life and find something good in each day. SLEEP lots. Eat what u want while in chemo. Be kind to yourself and don't overdo. Lean on friends and family and pray. I know that God loves us and will be there when we are ready to live in his heaven. Don't let internet scare you about triple neg. just use it as way to learn more. There are a bazzillion different statistics out there. Just keep your head down, one day at a time. 14 months since last chemo and living life again!!! Lasies you can do it!!! Love you all.

I was diagnosed with triple
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in November 2013. One week before my 33 birthday. Grade 3 stage 2b. The last year I have been through the ringer. It is really hard to connect with any other survivors because most of them have have no idea what triple negative breast cancer is. I have had neoadjuvent chemotherapy and a bilateral mastectomy and I am also having my tubes removed after the first of the year. I guess my question is how do you ever get over the worry of it coming back? I have three small children, my youngest had just turned a year old when I was diagnosed. I am not so much worried for myself. More so for my husband and my children. I did really well with all of my treatment and I think it was because of them. I know the statistics but does the worry ever go away? It would be nice to talk to someone who has been in my shoes.

Also check out www.breastcancer.org. My oncologist recommended it as a reputable web site. There are topic specific Discussion Forums and I know there are Triple Negative forums, just be sure and mark them as Favorites or it's hard to find them again.

I am also triple negative andAK farm gal said:Trip neg survival rate
Can u tell me where I can find the info about increased survival rate after chemo. I was triple neg and had double mast and dose dense chemo. Finished 13 myths ago:)
I am also triple negative and heard that with chemo and radiation the survival rate after ten years is 67%. I think that your oncologist would be a good person to ask.

Hello trish, your story sounds so much like mine. I have 4 children. Diagnosed in July of 2014 with 2B Grade3 triple negative. I belong to a supoort group of local woman where I live and I think that the worry is something that all of the women icluding myself deal with. When I had asked the ladies how they delt with it, the majority of them said they had to let it go and put it in gods hands. I am not sure if you are religous or have a higher power but when you put the worry onto him they said it seemed to help. Now don't get me wrong some of them said that they still worry. I have extreme anxiety disorder so I am a worrier anyway. For myself I try not to obsess about it. I have had to tell myself that this is something that I have no control over, and yes that is scary but when I was constantly worrying about it I was driving myself insane. I compare it to other things in life that we have no control over. You have to tell yourself that it is ok. Everything happens for a reason. Take one day at a time. Good luck to you. I hope this helped.

The Fear eases with time..........but the worry is always in the back of your mind. Many of us have Triple Negative....mine is Stage 3A ... Know about that going thru that wringer........but I'm still here after almost 12 years from the end of treatment. Keep posting and reading...this is a good place for you because so many here do indeed understand.

Hi Trish34, I do feel the same as you I was diagnosed in July of 2013 just 3 days after I turned 32. I the time my only son was 5 years old. when I received the call from my dr all i could thing was my son, he was to young to loose his mommy!! Like you said nobody knows about triple negative bc. until this days I feel lonely with this nobody seems to relate with me in the sence. I actually worked thru my treatment and honestly think that helped me a lot. What makes me sad now is the there's chances I won't be able to have more children. what I try to do is take one day at the time. And keep the negatives thoughts out my mine. The fear is something I think we have to live with. Good luck to you and lets try our best to stay cancer free.

getting easier
Thank you all so very much for your replies. Sorry I have not responded earlier. As of May I am now one year cancer free I have a follow up this coming Monday. Just had my blood work and chest x-ray this morning. I have since my last appointment learned a lot more on how to deal with the cards I have been dealt and not let it consume me. Had a little anxiety today just because of the upcoming appointment. So glad to hear all of your stories. Very brave women I hope everyone is doing well
