may be cancer or what??KPmom said:HI, I don't blame you for being scared. My tumor was in my tibia but I felt a deep bruise like pain in my tibia for about two weeks before having it checked out. By the end of the two weeks it had formed a lump over my bone where the tumor had broken free of the bone. Ask to have a biopsy done. It's really they only way to positively tell what is going on in there. Good luck!
i am having some red bruishes in my right leg,, i.e tibia,,, i thought i was may be some kind of thrombosis but it was little painful ,,, but now i'm feeling some small lump near to that,,, i'm really scared about what it is??? can anyone tell me??0 -

I knew something was wrong when suddenly I had this ache that kept intensifying on my right side, including my breast and under my right arm. It just started one day out of the blue. I went to the Dr. and they said it was pleurisy, gave me some antibiotics and pain meds and sent me home...the antibiotics worked! Then, about a week after I finished the antibiotics, the pain returned, just as suddenly...one minute I was fine, the next it was there and it continued getting worse until I had to go back to the Dr. again...this time, she diagnosed it as possible "shingles", same treatment and sent me home. This went on with a variety of doctors for 8 months and was not found until I had surgery for my thyroid removal and they had taken a xray and CT scan of my chest. There was a "bulge" in one of my ribs, that after biopsy showed papillary/follicular thyroid metastasis.
Even though my thyroid cancers were very small, it had already spread to my rib (and we suspect other areas, including my lungs). I am being treated now with focal radiation treatments to reduce the tumor and pain. In October, I will have the RAI-131 (Radioactive Iodine) uptake treatment to hopefully eradicate any remaining thyroid cancer cells in my body.
It has all been very surreal to me. One day I was fine, the next I was told I had thyroid cancer, then bone cancer, and my life just exploded. To all of you out there that are just finding out that you have cancer. Do the research, talk (a lot) to family, friends, support groups, clergy...learn as much as you can about your cancer and possible treatments, then if you don't get the answers you think you deserve with one Doctor or hospital, go to others until you do.
Most of all...if you "feel" intuitively that there is something wrong, follow that feeling and be proactive until someone listens and does the tests to see if you're right. You'd be surprised how many cancer patients "know" before they're diagnosed. God bless you all in your journey to survival...I hope to be there with you.
I Have Been Having Problems with Pain in Leggs feet and Back and Have felt like There are Lumps in back of my left Leg behind knees. At first i thought was arthritis. I'm new to this site, but was looking online for info about bone cancer symptoms. For the last week I've had this ache on the upper part of my left thigh... kind of like a bruise, but the pain is 'intermittant' and there is no redness, discoloration, or lump. I keep hoping it is a muscle pain... but it doesn't feel like it. It doesn't hurt when you press on it. It actually feels like the bone is aching... intermitently?? I do have an Oncologist as I've had breast cancer, so I will eventually talk to him about this.I have been having the exact same pain in the same leg. I although I've had it for several months. I haven't gone to the doctor yet but after reading all these other posts I am getting really nervous and think its time for me to schedule an appt. Thanks for sharing.

Dear neekee11,
I have been experiencing horrible bone pain in various parts of my body along with extreme tiredness. I too am going to see a doctor very soon (March 5, 2013). I had stage 1 grade 2 RCC 4 years ago. I don't know if this related, but I really need to find out what is wrong...I just am not well. I know I have arthritis, but I don’t know if that makes you hurt in so many different places and feel ill. Here is hoping for the best for both of us! Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.

Go to your doctor and ask him to get you a bone scan, x-rays and a bone density scan and an expanded blood test. This should tell if you have cancer in the bones, have bone loss , and what other tests you need. Hope your insurance will cover this and you find out your problem and get better. Notmyidea.

Angelasweet,
I can completely relate to what you are going thru. I have IC. I've already had to have a hysterectomy and my gall bladder removed. I have IBS. My right low back and hip hurt all the time too, especially at night and when trying to roll out of the bed. It's almost impossible for me to climb stairs and typically after a couple minutes of walking I have to sit down. I can't even hardly drive because of the back pain. I can't sit straight. My physical therapist for my IC has indicated that I have had pelvic floor shifting and this is attributing to the back and hip pain but I'm not sure. I get frustrated too cause it seems that people just don't understand what you're going thru and how you feel. I take 2400 mg of Gabapentin for the IC, along with other medicines, and it keeps me tired. But, it seems lately that I just stay extremely tired, I hurt in my legs, back, hip and especially my right shoulder area. Sometimes, I think I'm going crazy.
All I can really offer or suggest is to find yourself a urologist who specifically specializes in IC. My doc has a PT on staff that specifically does treatment for IC patients. I just keep voicing my symptoms to my doc and he advises or refers me to docs.
If you find out anything more, please let me know. I don't know anyone with IC so it helps to know what other patients are going thru because they can understand, relate and offer suggestions to help.
Sorry I wasn't more help,

Bone Cancer Signs & Symptoms
Hello-
I am new to this site, and was searching key words on the web and found this and even thought this posting is 10 yrs old I have similar symptoms. Started about 2 months ago with a UTI that I only had back pain and abdomin pain for. Got antibotics for it and thought it was gone until I started having the same pain but ONLY on my left side. Pain was worse at night when I was trying to sleep and if I lay on my left side my hip starts to hurt and my leg starts to get a little numb. Sometimes feels like someone was poking me with a hot poker...kind of a burning sensation in my back and abdomin. Finally went back to doctor about 2 1/2 weeks ago and she did a urine dip and said that I had protien, white blood cells and blood in the urine but did not say that I had another UTI. She scheduled me for a CT scan of the kidneys and bladder which was done last week and for which I am awaiting results. Now over the past week I have started expierence a whole new set of pain. Only way to discribe it is like I have been sleeping on a really hard floor. My lower back hurts, my neck, shoulders hand and knees are stiff and achy and when I try to take deep breaths it hurts under my ribs. The pain decreases after about 4 hours after I get up, but not completely gone. Sent a e-mail to my doctor to see what she thinks, but I don't want her to think I am crazy...Maybe I am crazy.

Similar symptonsSittingstraightwithstaff said:same symptoms as yours.....
Hi, I joined this site because I feel like my doctor isn't quite hearing me and my symptoms that I tell him about. I had BC 2006/surgery & chemo in 2007. Recently, over the past 3-4 mths I've been feeling an achiness in my arms, wrists, small bones of my hands & feet, painful left hip with sciatica (at times), lumbar & neck pain. It's not getting better and I feel new symptoms arising in my bones all the time. I've been now noticing a small bump on my lower arm near my right wrist. Also noticed one on the other arm near the elbow. One day, the whole day, I experienced intermittent pain under my clavicle, but nothing really since then. I feel that the breast cancer may have taken a hold on my bones. Has anyone had similar symptoms and what became your diagnosis. This is really taking a toll on my emotions as well as I am alone in this and haven't told anyone until I get a diagnosis. To all of you out there, it's good not to feel alone anymore; should have joined sooner. Thanks.Hi I don't have cancer as far as I know but I'm concerned as the symptons I have seem similar to yours, my started in my left wrist, a dull achy pain which then started coming in my fingers, lower arm, elbow, shoulder and I'm now feeling it in my left ankle and foot. The pain feels like it's in my bones. the dull achy pain is so much worse when my body is still, I also have a large growth on the top of my wrist spreading down the inside of my wrist so is quite large. It is hardish to touch but doesn't hurt when touched. I have also been extremely tired falling asleep at any part of the day if I lay my head down, also bad head aches at the lowest part of my head near my neck. I'm just starting to feel the dull pain in my left thigh bone. I have beeN docs 2 times and I'm being refered to a orthopedics at the hospital. Do you think this sounds like yours? Please

Hi Del83,
I suggest you quick see a doctor if the pain doesn't go away. However, since you seem to have discomfort all over your body, it might not be what it seems. I started having pain on my right knee 2 months ago and brushed it off as joint pains. However, since it kept annoying me, I saw an orthopedic surgeon who did an x-ray for me. After several more scans and finally a biopsy, I have been diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Hard to believe, but I put my faith in God and tomorrow I see my doctor to discuss treament options. Hope you get well soon and I hope to hear from anyone who can share with me your experiences on osteosarcoma.
Kind regards

Sorry to hear that, my leg has eased off so think that might of been a niggle but my growth on my wrist is getting larger and movement is more uncomfortable. But the ache pain in my wrist lower arm is the most uncomfortable dull achy pain I've ever felt, I've got a really bad feeling about it and I bet I'm waiting ages for my appointment with the orthopedics at the hospital they never rush appointments x

knot on leg...mom of jcs said:bone cancer signs
what kind of doctor did you go to? I have been having a lot of problems, some are ovarian and are still in process of being discovered (laproscopy scheduled Oct. 7) I too have had a lot of leg pain. More in the left leg, but have had it in both. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed while rubbing my legs from the pain, there was a knot on my leg. It is located in the back of my leg, near the knee. I thought maybe it was a swollen lymph node or a blood clot. Then I noticed another one on the right leg also, in a similar spot, but a little higher. The one on the right felt a little tender at first, as if it were a bruise, but a bruise never showed up. As a matter of fact, you can't really see them, just feel them. They feel like a marble to me. About the same size, maybe a little larger. They feel a little larger than they did at first. The one on the left, feels like it may be a 2nd one beside it and the one on the right just feels like it's gotten bigger. When I press on them, I can feel the leg pain, that I feel the dull ache from. I also have lower back pain. Did you or anyone else experience any of this?Hi, I am a breast cancer survivor of one year. Now I am experiencing almost identical to what you discribed about your knees. Also I have a very sore left elbow with lots of brusing. Can you tell me if you have found anything out? Best wishes and prayers!

Worried I may have bone cancer in my arm.
In June of this year I noticed a soft growth on my right wrist. It is about 1/2" high, 6" wide & goes across my entire wrist. My doctor did an x-ray and said they didn't see anything. The last couple months my right forearm above the the growth started hurting. Now my elbow and hand are hurting so bad I can't hardly use my arm. I've also noticed my bicep and my shoulder started hurting as well. My orthopedic doctor set up a MRI for the end of next week. I'm hoping that will show what's wrong. I've been really worried so I went on the internet and started doing research. Now I'm really concerned. Could someone help me? thanks

I have no pain, but after a biopsy of my mouth cyst on the roof of my mouth I am told I have stage 4 cancer which has spread to the marrow. It is a non-hodgkins lymphoma. I have a longer life span and I hope the chemo cures it or at least puts me in remission for a few years. I am positive and very anxious to get my first treatment started on Tuesday

bone mets
I've just started having bone pain. Had annual Physical which indicated low WBC. Long story short, just recently dxd with bone mets. This may seem like a silly question, but.....I'm wondering if because I just started the bone pain the mets may have just started. I had IDC BC stage 2 in 2003. Meeting with onc this week. Also does "it" usually come back as the same as the first meaning ER +, etc.
Just so scared!
