Cetuximab
I dug and dug through papers I had received and hid away and found the name of the clinical trial drug that was presented by my team. I signed the paperwork to participate but am able to change my mind. It is called Cetuximab. Has anyone had any experiences with this drug?

There are several folks here
who got Cetuximab (Erbitux).....I said the other day that it always surprises me that it's a "clinical trial" chemo, since so many have had it. I wasn't one, tho.....I had Cisplatin. Cetuximab is easier on the body, and aside from an acne like rash, people generally feel better than when on Cisplatin.
You'll be hearing from those who got the Cetuximab.

I think I remember the Clinical trial nurse telling me that is was a successful treatment for Colo-rectal cancer and there was a lot of good results with Oral cancer. It is still in the Clinical trial phase for Oral. Does anyone else find it a little funny that the same drug is having success with Rectal and Oral Cancers?
Thank you P, I look forward to hearing from people. You are so supportive and helpful, it means much. Its a beautiful autumn day here, off the technology and onward to enjoying the day! Happy Thursday!

Thank you Matt. I think I am going to go ahead and try it.

fine print...
Hi,
Please read the fine print. Erbitux is past phase III trials as it is regularly deployed as a chemo for SCC oral cancer treatment. There are many. many trails that are testing for different things. It might be a deescalation trial and one needs to ask themselves if they want to be a test pilot.
Make absolutely certain you fully understand the entire scope of the trail and what you are subjecting yourself too. Some are OK with being used in experiments, others are more comfortable sticking with proven accepted therapies.

Thank you Donfoo. I copied your advice and information and sent it to my doc, I shall see what he states on Monday. I appreciate your help, I do not even know what questions to ask most of the time and there is so much information I do not know what to believe.

I had
7 weeks of erbitus/cituximab and had no real problems with it beyond the acne like rash. Kind of embarassing for a 58 year old man.
I also had my eyelashes grow out to an incredible length! My wife and daughters were jealous!
All in all, it was so much easier to deal with compared with the Taxotere, Cisplatin and 5FU!
Hope all goes well for you

Myfather had BIOMABHi ,
Myfather had BIOMAB its a similar type of Monoconal anti body. These antibodies are easier than usual platinums.I had read that with Radiation Cetuximab gives good result.
Thanks
I did Cisplatin in 2012. Two recurrences then erbitux and taxol. Last two PETS clean? Side effects much easier with erbitux. Light rash and lost hair.
