in the ER not for cancer
I was feeling great and crashed my mountain bike. Busted up my lip and nose. Its not looking good for treatment tomorrow. I am heartbroken about giving my wife more to worry about.

Good news. My nose is not
Good news. My nose is not broken but my jawbone directly below my nose is fractured and i had 4 stitches on my upper lip. The good news is they did a CT of my head and neck and there was no sign of cancer.

What are we going to do with you? Hope you heal quickly & so glad your CT showed no cancer. Heck of a way to get a CT though.

Sounds like a piece of cake compared to the cancer B.S. Although the jaw thing sounds painful. I've been over the bars a few times myself. Get well.
Yeah i have been over the bars several times before but i never got busted up this bad. Your ight its nothing compared to cancer. Its funny i was scared to get the scan results but i didnt care about broken bones just scared a spot on my head or neck would show up.

It's inspiring to me that in the midst of everything else, you're still going for it hard enough to beat yourself up good! I was still rock climbing hard during treatments,it was when I felt best mentally and physically. F#%*cancer!

The swelling on my nose has gone down some but my mouth still looks real bad.
The funny thing is i have slowed down since my last recurrence. It was just a momentary lapse of judgement like any accident.
I am very thankful though to have my teeth and not sustain a neck injury or concussion. The first thing i did was check my teeth. Then i walked a mile back to my truck pushing my bike. I knew i looked really bad and didnt want to look at my self until i got to the hospital but i figured i better make sure my eyes werent dialated before i drive which they werent.
It made me think twice about things but i have to keep living lifebto its fullest and laugh in the face of cancer.
I might go kayaking today. Water is much softer on the face LOL.

I am glad to hear that you started on your treatments in spite of beating yourself up.
I guess you literally 'picked yourself up' this time. You'll do the same with this set of treatments too, pick yourself up and carry on.
Good luck.
