The vigil goes on HAS ENDED AT 2 AM TODAY
12:50 am and the vigil goes on. All the children are here safely. Jim has went through a lot of changes in breathing, temperature and heart rate. I slept well last night know he had good care. I didn't hear the nurse come in three times, Jim's Nurse and Cna last night were angels. So gentle and loving when handling him. I wish they could have been here tonight. Finally got everyone settled elsewhere. granddaughter asleep in recliner I am going to try and get some sleep on the cot. Thanks for your continued prayers.

Grateful the family got in safely
and it sounds like Jim is resting peacefully. It appears that he's coming to the end of his earthly journey so my prayer for you and your family is that everyone has gotten the chance to tell him what a wonderful husband, father and grandfather he is to them and how much you all love him. I pray that you feel God's presence around you and know that he has all of you wrapped in his arms offering comfort and peace as he gently holds Jim in the palm of his hands, waiting to take him to his heavenly home.
Whispered a prayer for all of you again as I type this. Know that I will be praying for you all throughout the next days ahead.
Thoughts and prayers are with you and God Bless.

so many memories have surfaced...watching my husbands grandma struggle and finally take her last breath was hard. I truly believe she knew we were all there with her, we sang to her, read poems , and played music softly. You and your adored Jim are in my prayers, and the family that loves you are there to lend support and love. Bless you Debbie, you're a wonderful wife

Shortly after the original
Shortly after the original post Jim's breathing started to change and he breathed his last breath soon after. I believe his spirit left before the last breath because I felt the most awful pain in my heart. Even though I thought it would be a relief, it was devestating when the nurse said, "He's gone." I say, "Gone from my sight, but still in my heart."

Debbie, my deepest condolences. Unfortunately in these critical times, the best alternative is to be with our lord. May he rest in peace. God Bless.
