I am very glad to know that you are happy and enjoying your life too. I wonder about your little “princess”. Have you given a though in visiting the Algarve? I will meet you at Faro airport.

Regarding myself, I am doing fine in this period free from treatments and free from the side effects. So far I managed to be away from the drugs since November of 2011. The bandit is there but I think that I am on the command of my case. Hopefully I will be in this status for an additional couple of years before starting the hormonal therapy again.

Now I think it right to celebrate your good news with a Guinness Draught.

I would LOVE to visit the Algarve it sounds and looks amazing from what I have seen on the pictures. I forget about "My little Princess" what did I say again as I cannot remember and although I am very young I have an awful memory for things like that

Christmas is just around the corner so of course I will be celebrating and I will think of you to and celebrate your recovery to,

You didn’t say much about your little “princess” and that is why I am curious. At one time you commented about your plan for acquiring a house and moving in (with your princess/partner). You were very concerned in leaving your parents alone.
I believe you managed the facts well and now are enjoying the circumstances.

Cancer affects everybody in a family. Your fathers’ case hit you hard too. Moreover, you should know that you and your brother are also at risk of contracting the disease, as much as my son. You will have to start your PSA screening at the age of 40, once every other year. By doing so, it does not mean that you will get prostate cancer but you need to do the test as a preventive measure. I thing we will meet one day in the future here or there. I also think your country is amazing with extraordinary sceneries worth visiting in person. Have you seen the movies Leap Year or Ryan’s Daughter?

Hi there VG and everyone,

I just wanted to say first of all I hope you are all well and I thought I replied to this comment - I am still waiting to move in with my partner (male) I know it will happen its just a matter of when at this stage LOL - If you want to place your bets on the year we are going out over 7 years now - Just an update regarding Dad he is doing brilliant - PSA still 0.5 or something to that affect but he is over the moon we all are. I have just posted a new thread and it is regarding my Mum - she had a cataract and wanted to have it removed as she had ti wait until it ripened but wanted it done under general anestetic so they done testing to make sure she is well enough - one of the tests was a CT scan - it showed a tiny mass or spot which was a concern and they said they would monitor it - My Mum then had digestive problems and her stools were loose and any food was causing cramps etc - she had Colonoscopy and all was fine and that Doctor told her after Mam mentioned she was having a General for her eye surgery not to dream of having that as it is so serious putting your body under that stress that a local is the way to go and she done it and had it done under local and can see now ans she is over the moon. The mass was always my concern and they repeated the CT scan and it had changed a small bit so a Needle Biopsy was performed and we got the news Sept 30th 2015 that it was a Cancerious Tumor but a very slow growing one which I think is good news even though its not good news. A PET scan has been ordered so hopefully that will be done soon and the next thing is surgery I hope and that will remove the mass. She has been coughing just her usual smokers cough where she brings up phelgm and maybe once or 4 times there was a tiny bit of blood but it is only 8 days since she had the needle biopsy and the Doctor told her to expect this so I hope this is normal to what is happening. My post which I posted in the Lung Forum is just there so I can get a bit of guidance and support like what you have offered me regarding my Dad as I still live at home and I want her to see me fly the nest and live with my partner and for us to spend allot of Chrismas's together - she is only 68 years of age and I have been reading and I think it has been caught at the early stage and only for her insisting on a general anestetic for her to be tested with the CT scanner we would never of known so please god this is for her own good and she will be ok. I am extremly worried and frightened I would be lying if I said I wasnt - but she is giving up smoking soon as she knows herself she will need to - the operation to remove it after googling it I have seen it will not be pleasant but some people and I have a good feeling about my Mam are cured once it has been removed - this is what I am praying. I am praying the PET scan shows it is only in the tumor area and not gone anywhere else which would be a huge relief to me and my Dad as it is not easy for him either but as a family I told her we will be behind you 100% and you have nothing to worry about.
