GOOD LUCKrenw said:Thx for all the support. I
Thx for all the support. I have not been online very much, as it now takes a lot effort to do so. The damn ascites are getting worse and will try to have another go at getting them drained on Monday. I'll try and keep the blog updated. Surgery is still on for Wednesday, but will know for sure Tuesday after all the pre surgery tests are done. Somewhat nervous as both the ascities and anemia are getting worse based on yesterday's blood work.
Hi Ren,
Good luck to you on your surgery. Adding you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Update
Went to the hospital today as things are getting worse. The ascites are making my life mizerable, but They would not drain the fluid buildup as there is no point I was told. In my current state it would be back within 24 hours and do more harm than good, so I have to live with it for a few more days. Been sleeping sitting up for the past week anyway, so I guess I can handle a few more days. The op, will proceed, as the surgeon, like me, realizes that I am out of options anyway, so nothing to lose.

I'm so sorry to hearHey Ren,
I'm so sorry to hear about the ascites. I know from watching Rick suffer with them how painful and uncomfortable they are, so hopefully the operation can help.
Take care,
Cyn

Ren,
I am so relieved to hear that your surgery will proceed as scheduled. Sorry you are in such discomfort now, but hopefully things will resolve after the operation. Wishing you and your family all the best in the coming days.

I am pleased to know the surgery is still on. Will be thinking about you and your family and sending positive vibes from Canada. Good luck. You've fought one hell of a fight. It would be great to see things finally turn around for you.

Wish you weren't so uncomfortable with the ascites. I had quite a bit before my first surgery, it even infiltrated my pleural cavity. They drained the pleural cavity in the morning before surgery and the abdomen during surgery--they removed over 6 liters! I felt so much better. May you feel better soon! Good luck with the surgery, hope it's a huge success and you recover quickly. Traci

They should be able to put in a catheter so that you can drain yourself daily if needed. FYI there are people locally that go in 3x weekly and have 7 or more liters drained every time. There is no reason they can't drain the fluid you currently have on as at least that will be that much less you have the next day.

Hey, Ren. Speedy recovery. I check your blog from time to time, and it would seem from the recent pic that you are under the knife, or were yesterday?
a) I hope that isn't a picture of your liver, and b) I hope it isn't a selfie!!!
speedy recovery and get well soon!

Seems I just can't get a break. They opened me up, found 10 micro mets in the peritoneum and thus did not proceed further.
I'm so very sorry.

I hear they call that a peek and shriek surgery and I can see why.
Are you in England, ren? The background of your avatar smacks of English foliage.

Was so wishing to hear something different! I echo the future posts and hoping they at least were able to make things more comfortable for you. Were they able to place drains in for you at least?
Sending strength to you!

Oh just DANG! I hope that they were at least able to remove some of your discomfort from the ascites. I'm so very sorry....
