I am home from my surgery onDouble Whammy said:Not the news I wanted you to hear
You've really been hit with so much at once, Patti. I, too, had to deal with 2 primary cancers at the same time and well remember the fear, dread, and will to beat them. My heart and prayers go out for you as you continue with doing what you have to do to get through this nightmare. I'm sending all the good mojo I can muster up for you.
Hugs,Suzanne
I am home from my surgery on my lower lip, chin and neck dissection. i look like I have been kicked in the mouth several times and my neck on both sides looks like I've been stabbed several times. I can't talk or eat and in a lot of pain, but I have managed the art of putting the straw n the back of my mouth and using my tongue to swallow liquids.
They are giving me a week to heal before they do the lung biopsy. Thanks to all for your support, it has given me strength!
Hugs,
Patti

Happy to read that you're feeling better. Not happy that you can't eat or talk. Are you just sipping liquids through a straw then Patti? Will that be enough to sustain you? When do you see the doctor again?
Lots of cyber hugs,

Hi Patti,
I haven't been on the site much because I am in NY for my 6 month check-up. I drove here from Florida last week with my husband and two crazy West Highland Terriers. OMG, never again!! I just wanted to see how you were doing. I hope you continue to feel better each day. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Many, many hugs to you,
Ginny

Ugh well not so great news but not awful either, my surgeon informed me today that my margins were not clear on two places on my lip. One close to surface and one inside my lip. She will be talking with the rest of my team tonight at the tumor board meeting and is hoping my rad onc thinks he can kill the rest with the 36 radiation treatments I will be having. As far as my PET, my husband who wrote down the info when I was still loopy from my surgery last week, got the date wrong lol I have the PET next Tuesday, on the 30th. Nice way to spend my B-day lol but hey at least I am here and celebrating another B-day:) They are holding off on giving me my complete treatment plan, told me to prepare for chemo again as well due to them being as sure as they can be before my lung biopsy that the noduels are cancer. I won't have the lung biopsy until after I have the PET.
They seem to think that back in Aug when I was diagnosed with bilateral IDC, with a fully metastic node, that it was already in my lungs all be it microscopicly (sp?) that's why it didn't show on my CT/PET I had right after my bilat mastectomy in Sept.
So for now I don't have to go back until Monday and at least then I can get these stiches out and EAT lol. I have been making a list of everything I am going to eat. On the bright side I have lost 6 pounds this past week and am only now 10 pounds away from my ideal weight! There always has to be a bright side, right? Ginny you have to go from FL to NY? Oh my goodness! I hope your check up went well and everything is fine:) Thanks for you thoughts everyone!

Hi Patti,
I am still hoping with all my heart that the lung nodule is not cancer. I think you have been through quite enough now!! No matter what, you will survive whatever life throws at you. You are clearly an amazing, positive person who will fight this. I am sorry you have to deal with so much. It is just not fair. I hope you get to eat as much as humanly possible when those stitches come out. I think you should try and gain those 6 pounds back in one day!! You deserve it.
As for me, I moved to Florida 6 months after being diagnosed, but I loved and trusted my oncologist so much that I travel back and forth every 6 months to see her. I see her tomorrow.
Please keep us posted. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hugs,
Ginny
