    I know there are at least half dozen of us in the Bay Area and more including several hours drive like up where you are and Sac area. A nice spring picnic would be cool in a central location.

    Sorry, we don't have near as much going here in STL as the rest of you. Duggie, I lived in Bradenton right out of college, some 40 years ago...whew that is a long time ago! Heading to Sand Key, next to Clearwater, tomorrow. If time allows I hope to hook up with John & Shelly but have now heard, in addition to family, 3 other couples that have condos or homes there are going down, so time will be tight. When you live in a great part of the states I guess that happens allot.

    Welcome mat

    I would welcome anybody from the H&N forum, if you want or need a place to stay in Western Washington. I live in a rural housing development outside of Yelm Washington. In the summer months I have my 5th wheel trailer set up as a guest house, (sleeps 3 adults, and 3 kids easy) actually have a small guest cabin, and usually some spare bedrooms as well. The community boasts 3 beautiful trout stocked lakes, hiking trails, a heated swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts....it is really quiet here even when it is busy..... an little over an hour to Mount Ranier,or Seattle and a few hours to the Pacific beaches..gotta say I love it here.....

    Oh Yeah!

    Marcia and I met online. The site where we met had a "gathering" of members once a year in Washington DC.  A couple of the folks organized hotel arrangements, food, entertainment etc.  It was a weekend event. Come in Friday... cocktails meet and greet etc. Saturday was the bash and went home SUnday. I went to a couple and it was neat meeting the "thumbnails" I've come to know so well ~lol~

    Anyway... point is, it's something doable with enough planning. Personally, I think it would be awesome. 

    Also, some of the offers on this threat are WAY too tempting. One of the goals Marci and I have is to spend a week away after I get through this. Don;t be surprised if you get an email form me in the future ;)

    you are welcome here (outside of Chicago) any time...

    Chicago in summer is much nicer than winter !
