So glad to hear from you again. I've been thinking of you, and hoping things are starting to settle down. I hope you've gotten your medications, and that you treatmnets are going well. Not too many side effects.
Don't be hurting yourself. No running with knives. We don't heal too well when we're on the chemo, you know.
Hows the radiation? Its my worst fear now, as I get closer to getting it.
I may very well friend you on FB if you post more about updates there.
I have a soft spot for you young folk. My heart is always yearning for you and KayeKay. So young to be going through this trial of tears.
I hope your lovely wife is thinking of quitting the smoking. Best for the both of you.

Hello -stay strongmagikproductions said:I just found out friday will
I just found out friday will be starting chemo monday kinda excited also worried about side effects but it's ok ill be kicking the cancer in the butt lol
Hi - My son is 23 and it's so unfair to get this disease at any age but especially at your age. Starting chemo will be good for killing those cells. There are so many supportive folks here to help you with questions about any part of your healing. Chemo side effectts are very manageable now and communicate any concerns with your nurse. Appetite can be diminished with certain chemos but fight that with protein enriched smoothies or whatever you can tolerate for food choices. You can kick cancer's butt and take it one day at a time! Come to the boards with any questions. Lots of folks here with experience and guidance. Wishing you the best on Monday and will be thinking of you. Barb

Don't ever hesitate to ask for help (whether it is for your car or you personally). I'm glad to hear you are on your way. Grab a notebook and keep notes in it when you go to your oncologist. Also, treatments I see on here I jot down in my notebook, just in case my tx does not work.
Keep going, my friend!!!

Chemo is often much harder on our bodies than we realize until we start trying to do something. Is there a friend you can ask to help you with the car job? I was the kind of person who hated to ask for any help, but during treatment I began to realize that sometimes I just couldn't do things myself. How is the treatment going otherwise? Do you have all your insurance stuff sorted out? Hugs~AA

That is quit the mistake.
I hope the nurses have been reprimanded.
I know mistakes are inevitable, but its hard going knowing that your regular dose of chemo is going to hit you hard, now you may get hit even harder.
I wonder what I can do to not let this happen to me?
I'm glad your back on here. You sound more upbeat (other than the chemo mistake), which I hope means that you are feeling better.
I know its hard for you to get onto the internet, but believe me, I am always looking out for your posts.

they were short staffed that day, i remember very clearly cuz i heard them saying it so it was bound to happen. but i would have said something once i noticed it was pumping 2.00/ml instead of the useal 0.67, but the radiation did this BOOST thing so i figured the chemo was doing the same thing so in that case I feel like total trash hope I am not getting sick.sick. thats what it feels like ill let you guys and girls know more later

I hope that its just fatigue that you will suffer, and that, in my opinion is one of the worst side effects for me.
How is the radiation? I am heading towards that now, and I've read so many bad things about it that I am now pretty darn scared.

That's terrible, Justin!
I know you probably don't have the energy to deal with this right now, but you really should tell someone higher up than the nurses what happened. Being busy is no excuse. They could make someone really sick making an error like that. Hope you start to feel better soon~AA

I am very thankful that the nurses at my cancer center always have two when doing any meds; one has the meds (IV meds), the other checks my bracelet, name, dob, numbers, then reads each med. The nurse with the meds checks each med while the other reads them off. I imagine most places do this. Now I appreciate it even more. But do let someone know about this, Justin. Keep us updated on how u r making out...

My hospital is the same way. They have 2 nurses confirm my name and DOB on my wrist band and then both read the prescription and IV BAG.

Sorry have not been on latley trying to get all this dealt with, I finished chemo/Rad about a month ago. and I got a PET scan a week ago. Got my results today and not good 2 lymph nodes are glowing near my groin area. Doc said its either 2 things 1. It spread, 2. its just after effects of rad TX and its nothing. I go tommorrow to schedule my appointment to get the surgery. SCARED SHI*Tless.

I know how scary it is to get those kind of scan results, having had several recurrences myself. But I've also had many things show up on PET scans that were not cancer. The PET is super-sensitive, and picks up all kinds of inflammation. Do you know what the SUV was for each spot? That's the number that shows how active the cells are. Even a fairly high number can still be something other than cancer. I know it's virtually impossible, but try not to worry. Especially with such recent radiation treatment, it's quite possible that it will end up being nothing to worry about. And if it does end up being more cancer, well...that's not uncommon. The latest thinking on cancer spread is that everything is there from the start, just too small to see. So as it grows, stuff will become visible and you have to deal with it. But that process can end with your cancer being in remission or even cured (I've been NED for 16 months, so even with recurrence you can get there), so try not to be too scared about that either. You are going to get through this, and we'll be here to help you. Keep us posted (and maybe start a new thread, so people can quickly see what's going on with you). Big hugs~AA
PS If you have any Ativan, or medical mj (or non-medical mj, for that matter...ahem), now would be a good time to break it out and give your nerves a break!
