Plan in place
I am glad to see you in a good spirit. Target therapy like Afinitor sounds very promissing . Good luck with discussion on Tuesday. Please keep an open mind if your oncologist will propose a cytotoxic chemo. because I failed on anti-estrogen therapy and my progression was very agressive like explosion, my oncologist decided to put me cytotoxic chemo (Xeloda) as a first line of treatment. It did work for me.
As far as biopcy, please make sure it will be tested for Her2 positive mutation. I think for Afinitor they recommend to do base line Glucose (blood and urine) and enzymes.
Good luck and please know that we are here for you and with you athrough all the steps in this fight. Your journey complete victory has been started!!!!

Thanks New Flower. It has not escaped my attention that you have a wealth of knowledge! And thank you so much for saying something positive about chemo as I have been absolutely dreading it. It is too early to say if he will recommend chemo, but I have had a feeling that he might. It is as if you read my mind and gave me kind words to hold on to. Bless you!

I became complacent for a while when I was just trucking along, then everything changed and the beast was staring me down again. It brought the reality and the severity of this disease home again. I was so angry that none of the chemos put me to ned or even stable, then, knowing herceptin was what we all believe has worked the best at slowing the progression was no longer an option because my 'insurance said so', was a huge blow that I cried for 2 days, then had a puffy face and headache from crying. So enough of that, now it is listening to my body, sleeping when I need to, eating healthier and live, live, live.... (as soon as I get the energy to get up! Chemo is kicking my but!) lol

coming your way, Eileen. Let's hope whatever this new treatment is, it kicks the butt of that cancer right back into submission and stability. We're with you all the way. Keep those gloves on.

That Affinitor did a real
That Affinitor did a real good job for me! I hope it does for you as well! I had been on Faslodex and had a rapid progression but the Afiinitor/Exemestane combo put a halt to that!
It did spike my blood sugar and that was a mess but my CA15-3 numbers went from doubling every month to almost stable.
