Emotional pink rollercoaster...need my Girlies and a bus... please!!!
Hello Pinks! I am recruiting some rowdy gals to join me virtually on Monday 2/11 while I have a total hysterectomy and a bladder fix. (Yay! No more stopping to cross my legs before I sneeze.!) I was on Tamoxifen for two years...couldn't handle it, sick ALL the time. I've been on Arimidex since Sept '12. I am having pain in my knees, shoulders, and hands. But it still isn't as bad as I felt on Tamoxifen.
As luck would have it, I started having a pain in the 'good sister' on Monday. I could tell it was probably an infection of some sort. Went to onco on Tuesday, and they did sono. Sono showed a spot, so they wanted a mammo. Then they said they wanted me to see my surgeon and have a biopsy. Joy. They said it's because of my history, and they want to be extra careful. I was fine at the dr office, but on the way back to work I went kookoo for cocoa puffs. Cried the rest of the day, in front of everyone. So embarrassing. The visit with the surgeon was nice. She said the spot they saw was most likely the infection, so she wants me to finish the antibiotic, have the surgery on Monday, and she will see me on the 25th. She said that even if it happens to be another cancer, it's half the size as the first one we removed and she's not worried. Sooo...another two weeks of waiting to see what it is. I'm going to believe that it's just the infection because I don't have the energy to worry about that AND heal from Monday's surgery. So I picked concentrating on healing.
So while I'm watching winter storm Nemo from the window at work, I decided to ask for some help. Loud music, booze, noise makers, chicken and noodles, brownies... anything??? A card game, perhaps. A real funny movie would be great too. If we can get out of the house. LOL.
I hope all the NE Pinks are weathering the storm ok. Please check in and let us know. Ayse?? How's it by you? Who else is in the blizzard band???
Thanks, Ladies. You're amazing and wonderful and inspiring and supportive and...

The waiting game really sucks!!!!
I'm 4 years out next week and I still think about how terrible it was to wait for the biopsy results, then the cat scan, then the bone scan, then the mri. I listened to a head set when I went to sleep to drown out my mental conversations and it really worked. During the day I watched every good movie I could find. Reading didn't help unless it was stories of medical miracles. I hate that you are playing the waiting game again but you know that your surgeon is right. If she isn't worried, you shouldn't be. They know what cancer looks like. My surgeon told me after the fact that she knew it was cancer when she saw my mammo but needed the biopsy results before saying anything. Even with that, here I am still NED. In fact, I was able to donate a kidney to my son last July. Try to stay positive...it really will be fine.

Monday will be a full daylintx said:With you for the ride
on Monday. I think you'll be fine but do know the feelings you described. Waiting for everything stinks but do get beyond the hysterectomy first. Piece of cake, girlfriend:) Linda
for those of us on the bus. I imagine we will be pretty crazy by the time the day is over. But we'll all be there for you. As one who had both parts (boob and uterus) needing attention at the same time 2 1/2 years ago, I know it's overwhelming. I will bring comfort food - chicken soup.
Hugs,
Suzanne

I'll be on the bus
I'll be on the bus. I think 3 Pink Sisters need the bus so we will be driving all over the place. Still we'll be there to support you with your surgery and the others with their tests etc. Hope your surgery goes smooth and without problems.

Best Wishes for a Good Surgery
Aromatase Inhibitors do give one pain in the joints and bones. I am sorry that you are having them.
If the spot turns out to be, it still would be a local recurrence or a new one, so for now with your plate so full with your surgeries, it is good to take it off your worry list. Wishing you a good surgery and a noneventful recovery.
Since when have they started to name winter storms? I am on the coast and the expectations are 24 inches of the white stuff. I am beginning to hate northeasters but I rather they not have names. When I was a kid, I love them. Nemo? Oh gosh, he is furious and it's still snowing and blowing in my neck of the woods.
Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
Doris
PS: I'll bring a snow shovel, some salt for the sidewalk and some lobster rolls.

Right by your side
I will be holding your hand and your cocktail, so you don't spill it being rumbunctious and all.
I am raising my glass to an uneventful surgery and a very quick recovery. We will all be pampering
you and checking on you virtually till you get sick of having us all around you and that's a promise,
or is it a thread?
Love you Julie,
keep us updated on everything
