celebrex celecoxib

I've been doing this combo since spring 2011.  My nat Dr. is the one who prescribed it for me due to my chronic pain in hips and lower back however, at that time he told me that a side benefit would be that it enhances the effectiveness of xeloda.  The dosage should be under 400mg/day to avoid the risks associated with the drug.  It should be noted that in Canada, there is currently a nation wide class action lawsuite filed against the makers of Celebrex.  I take 100mg 2x/day will no ill effects on my liver.

I've been good

I've not had any problems with the celebrex/xeloda combination.  Again, I think it's just one more thing added to the mix that has helped keep my cancer in check.   My CEA doesn't drop dramatically anymore but it continues to decrease slowly or is maintained.  So I do believe that it's helped the xeloda continue to work within my body.  I do a number of different things to keep my cancer from progressing so it is hard to say exactly what is responsible but I've come to the conclusion for myself, it's the combination of everything that works.   The main reason I went on it was for back/hip pain brought on by chemo and for that alone, it has worked. 

Outside the US in an increasing number of countries, celecoxib is now a generic drug. eg 200 mg for 10 - 50 cents vs $5.69+ in the US.
