Thank you for your kind words! You may be right, perhaps this is my time for some rest. The worst part is I've lost my voice and can't cheer for my Colts today!
I'm glad your holidays were wonderful and I admire you so much for going back to school, determined to get that degree! I never finished college either, but so far, have had no desire to go back. Maybe someday! I wish you all the luck in the world with your goals--I know you can do it!
Dear sweet Martha,
So sorry to hear about your fight with the flu bug. My husband has been sick even though he also got the shot. I have been taking Silvercillin Spray - looks like Silver is the new zinc. It seems to be working for me. Usually within a few days of his getting sick I get sick and much worse since I have asthma. He is having trouble getting the doctor to even return his calls even though he has been exposed to the Pertussis I had and should have been on antibiotics weeks ago, as was the health departments recommendation. What is wrong with this picture? He is on Medicaire. This never happened before he turned 66. I hope there isn't a connection.
I said OMG in the subject because it is so hard for me to believe you never finished college. Neither did I. I take classes but never worried about a degree program. I have received a few "certificates" in my time and may go for more. Anyway, back to OMG! I always thought you must be a health care professional since you are so intelligent in your responses to people and so analytical too. Your communication skills are far above and beyond a lot of lawyers and other highly educated people.
I agree this site gets aggravating. It is way too slow for me. But what would I have done or do without it and you????
Love,
Sandy

I'm sorry your husband is sick! I certainly hope you are not next, as it is no fun! After 8 days, I'm happy to say I am starting to feel better. The only thing ailing at this point is my voice, which is virtually non-existent. I'm sure my husband is enjoying the temporary peace and quiet. I had to report for jury duty this morning and there were so many people in the room coughing and blowing their noses, so I hope while I was there, I didn't pick up another strain of something, as I'm quite tired of being sick! The good news is, my service was not needed and I was discharged!
Your post made me chuckle. I really don't consider myself all that intellectually polished, but I've been at the top of my class a few times in the School of Hard Knocks. I think lots of us are better communicators than many professionals, judging from some of the issues people on this site have with their doctors. Most of what I know about healthcare, I've learned in various jobs. I worked for an internist for several years, in two hospitals and two physical therapy clinics. Most of what I know about cancer is from my own cancer experience. Believe me, I would have been more than happy not to have learned all that stuff! But I believe in paying it forward, so sharing and caring is important to me. It's obvious that a lot of other people on this site, including you, have that same belief. It's what makes us strong--for ourselves and each other! Love you!

I'm glad you are doing well, despite a few "chute" problems, which I also experience, even after over 4 years. I did get a flu shot, but I think the stuff may have gotten me before the shot kicked in. I'm off to report for jury duty this morning. I hope they think I'm Thyphoid Mary and dismiss me!
Hope you get dismissed from jury duty. You don't need to be surrounded by more germs. I got my flu shot in August which I thought was kind of early, but it was convenient at the time. Hope it stays effective throughout flu season.

I and the entire pool of potential jurors was discharged. Only 3 case were scheduled to be heard this week and guilty pleas were entered in each case! Woohoo! Now I can focus on getting well. I'm still feeling puny this morning and have never had anything hang on this long. I hope your flu shot will see you through the flu season with no bugs!

2013
Good morning, Martha! 2013 is proving to be great with a NED report at the 2 year mark earlier this week. Resolutions for the year include learning the healing art of qi gong, consistent meditation and limiting myself to 13 minutes of Facebook time a day!
I dreamed that I married Gregg Allman last night and became your Georgia neighbor!
Hope you get to feeling better and everyone has a beautiful new year!

Hi
I completed my treatment yesterday and I am feeling GREAT! (sigh of relief) although I was stage 0 and they thought they got all the BAD off of me with me so called "hemmy" removal I did receive the standard protocol LESS lymph node/groin rad. I do contribute this factor to my having been able to work part-time through out the treatment.
YOU were correct, this is DOABLE although there was 1 week that I really did wonder if I would make it through (the week of end of round 2 of chemo)
Thank You ALL for your support and informational posts, I dont know how I would have gotten through this with out all of your been there done that recommendations.
I am scheduled for a CT scan the end of February.
Thank YOU!
XO

How awesome to hear of your NED results--fantastic! And congrats for passing the 2-year mark, which is a very important milestone! I am so happy for you and it sounds like you are doing great. Now, what did you eat for dinner last night to prompt that dream? Georgia would be honored to have you as a resident! As for me, I would prefer a dream in which I marry Jon Bon Jovi and he moves to Georgia to live with me, but that's just me! lol!
Keep the roll going in 2013! May it be a great year for all of us! Hugs!

I hope you don't get the flu bug! Hopefully, the shot will keep you from catching it--I have been down for 2 weeks. I'm so sorry to hear about your sister's husband. I hope she and her son will be okay, but I know what a devastating loss this is for both of them. My father died suddenly when he was 58. It's very hard. I'm glad you are there for her.
Thank you for reminding us that you will be celebrating your 2-year anniversary on the 19th! That's great--it's a very important milestone! I hope you'll find something special to do on that day. I'm sure your upcoming PET scan will come back all good, as it sounds like you are doing great! Please let us know. I wish for all good results for you!

I can relate to the chocolate overdose. I've cut back - lol! Actually, when I was going through treatment I thought I'd never eat chocolate again. I've made up for it now - lol! Hope you hear good news on your PET scan!!!
