First Haircut in 16 months!!!

Hi All

Wanted to share some encouraging news! June 12 2011 I was diagnosed with Diffuse large b Cell lymphoma. Did 9 rounds of chemo and then ultimately had to undergo an auto stem cell transplant on June 11 2012. Today I am cancer free and for the first time in 16 months I had my first haircut! I know that its small and maybe a little vain but its an act that makes things start to feel "normal" again. Just thought that I could spread a little light hearted cheer to you all. Thank you all for your prayers and support.

Mike

    It's the little things
Good for you mike, I'm looking forward to a haircut in a few months myself. With all the different levels of stuff we go through battleing this thing it's the little things that can be so big.

    Happy for you...
    Hi Mike,
Yes...it certainly does feel good when things start to feel a bit more normal again, and getting a hair cut DOES feel good! So glad to hear you are doing well, and thanks for checking in. Enjoy the holidays and best wishes for continued success! Take care...Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)

    Yay!
    Whoo hoo!

I actually let mine grow out a bit and grew a beard for a short while
when it started coming in good. I looked like a bum but enjoyed it.
My hair came out darker too and with less gray than before.
I however don't recommend chemo to get rid of gray ;).

So nice to hear from you, Mike. Happy holidays
    to you and yours!

    Hi Mike
Gotta love life and its little things that may mean nothing to other people but mean a lot to us cancer survivors!

    Merry Christmas!

    Sincerely,

    Hair
Congradulations. Hey sometimes it is the little steps in life that give us the most joy! I just lately finished my lymphoma treatments and am waiting for my "peach fuzz" to grow.
