Good luck at home and
Good luck at home and praying you don't have to go back. I so hope things are improving for you guys. Get some rest and enjoy being at home...nothing like sleeping in your own bed. Please tell David that I hope he feels better and to hang in there. One day soon he will turn the corner and each day will have more good then bad. He just has to go through these dog days, although, he has certainly had more then his fair share.

Hang in there!
Sounds like you and David both are going through the ringer at once. I'm sorry this is happening to you and then treatments starting Monday, wow that's a load. I have had my bouts with Thrush and it is no fun, keep up with the mouth wash, we used pickleing salt, baking soda mixed with water. That will help but he may need meds too.
My heart goes out to you both, I hope you get some rest and recovery.
Prayers, love and luck to you!

I remember after a few days in the hospital feeling terrible and just not able to get comfortable. I was almost afraid to go home for fear that I'd only have to turn around and go back. However, first thing when I got home I showered, put my pjs on and was able to get comfortable for the first time in days! I had a hard time sleeping but it was still better being home!
I'm praying the transition will be smooth and David will be feeling better soon.
Keep us posted and get some rest!

Hoo rah for going home...
Boo on the thrush!! The only thing that worked for me was Dulfican, and it works quick for thrush.
I'm thinking that they don't want to him to hit his head because of his platlet count...I went the last 3 months of treatment with orders to not do things that risked hitting my head...horseback riding, etc were out (like I was going to that anyway)...But I did find out that my puppy had the ability to pull me off my feet if I was on a hill, so started being very careful with that. They also told me not to play with sharp objects.
I'm so excited that he gets to go home!! Like Billie said, it's much more comfortable there, than laying around in the hospital.
Sending prayers and positive thoughts that treatment will be kinder to him than to many...he derserves a break.

The scare of falling could come from all the meds. I woke one night to use the bathroom and my husband asked if I needed help, I said no. Well I lost my balance, fell and broke my ankle. David has been thru a heck of allot and is likely very weak. If you don't have a walker, you might want to consider borrowing one just for safety's sake.0
