TW,

The occasion of hearing Happy Birthday for the 70th time is reason for celebration all by itself. And while we were waiting for you to pick up on Fox’s hint about taking us all to Bermuda, that’s not going to happen is it?

So we all decided to go to Plan B and celebrate this wonderful occasion from our second home, the CSN Board. Where else do you go to parties where you can kick off your shoes (and everything else should you wish)!

Happy, happy birthday TW. And my sincere hopes and prayers for many, many more. You mean the world to me as well as many others here.

Happy Birthday!

All together now: Haaappy Birrrth Daaay Tooo Youuuuuuu...
I always keep this in mind when I think of maintaining good health:

My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was sixty. She's ninety-five now, and we don't know where the hell she is.

Best wishes and many happy returns!

Welcome to the beginning of your 8th decade!!!
    Tex,

Happy Birthday my friend…may you laugh and love for at least twenty more.

    To help you laugh:

A doctor in an old people’s home is discussing an elderly resident with one of the orderlies. ‘I’m worried about Mr. Wedge,’ says the doctor. ‘He claims that when he goes to the bathroom God switches on the light for him, then switches it off again when he’s finished. Do you think he’s going senile?’ ‘Nah,’ says the orderly. ‘He’s just been peeing in the fridge again.

A man buys his grandfather the services of a call girl on his 90th birthday. The girl arrives and says, ‘Hi. I’m here to give you super sex.’ ‘Great!’ he replies, ‘I think I’ll have the soup.’

There are three things a man of your age needs to remember; Never pass up a chance to use a bathroom; Never waste an erection; and most important; Never under any circumstance trust a fart!

    To help you love:

    A Life That matters;

Ready or not, someday it will all come to an end.

There will be no more sunrises, minutes, hours, or days.

All of the things you’ve collected, whether treasures or baubles, will pass to someone else.

Your wealth fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance. It will not matter what you own or what you are owed.

Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear. So to, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire.

The wins and losses that once seemed all important will fade away. In the end, it won’t matter where you came from or on what side of the tracks you lived.

It won’t matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant, your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So, what will matter, how will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought, but built; not what you got, but what you gave.

What will matter is not your success, but your significance; not what you learned, but what you taught.

What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, or sacrifice, that enriched, empowered, or encouraged others to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence, but your character.

What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many people will feel a lasting loss when you are gone.

What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you.

What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom, and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn’t happen by accident. It’s not a matter of circumstance, but a matter of choice.

Tex, the first time I read this I thought of you, to me, you are the very definition of a life that matters. I absolutely hate the reason we met with every ounce of my being though I feel so much richer for the experience, what a contradiction. Hugs and kisses to your lovely wife and daughter on this special day, I pray you will share many, many more together.

    Know that you are loved,

    Gary

TW, what can I say? With all

TW, what can I say? With all of the valuable things you have posted on these boards with the seventy years of knowledge that you have acquired, I can't wait to see what the next couple of decades bring! All I ask is that each time you post something informative, useful and straight to the point, you give it to us in English! LOL

To make sure you have a laugh today, I am also adding a few jokes for you! Enjoy!!

I second everything the others have said. Here's wishing you all the best in the years to come and a successful road to NED! We will be there holding your hand.. You're the best!! xxoo

Q: What's the easiest way to remember your wife's birthday?
    A: Forget it once!

Q: What do George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Christopher Columbus all have in common?
A: They were all born on holidays.

Q: What goes up and never comes down?
    A: Your age!

Q: What did one candle say to the other?
A: "Don't birthdays burn you up?"

Q: "Were any famous men born on your birthday?"
    A: "No, only little babies."

Q: Why did the boy feel warm on his birthday?
A: Because people kept toasting him!

    Tex,

May you always stay 9 months older than me. The longer it stays that way the older we both get. May we strive to help the newbies and those with challanges for another 10, 20 or 30 years. After that we can both retire.

    A new day over Scotland
I got toooo busy at the office to respond to this early, but you are in the same day as I am right now. Here's a visual description of what I observed in early 1999:

The family decided to have a vacation reunion -at the 1/2 way point-Scotland. We and our son lived on the Pacific Coast and our daughter and family were in Kuwait. Flying over the pole, I had finally fallen asleep. Something made we awake a couple of minutes before midnight-Pacific Standard Time. As I looked out to my left, the sun was just breaking the horizon to the East; and through the cloud cover, The British Isles were outlined against the dark water.
What a remarkable sight to watch the new day begin.

The stories of our time share outside Oban in an old munitions factory, the visit to Campbelltown, hiking to Standing Stone areas, sampling our way thru as many Single Malt Scotch Distilleries as we could, looking for Nessie, touring Sterling Castle in pouring rain, shopping at "the barras" in Glasgow, having tea with my three year old grandson in a real castle B&B, and yes, traveling through your home town is a long tale...but you get the idea.

So, to you TW, many, many more fabulous sunrises over Scotland.

Yes Donna, I get the idea and many thanks for that delightful travelogue. I miss London occasionally but visit once in a while and I always feel glad that I've now lived most of my life in Scotland - it's a great place to be.
