Looking
I have news that will knock your socks off. My oncologist has been implicated in buying mis-labeled chemo drugs. These are drugs are not approved by the FDA an illegal. It didn't say the drugs were ineffective but misbranded. All my check ups have been fine for 2 yrs. now. Needless to say I'm looking for a new oncologist. This is really hard because if this group would do it who is to say others aren't or won't. My dr. was highly regarded in the cancer field. I've been sick over this.

Your news did knock my socks
Your news did knock my socks off! How scary! Just so happy that for 2 years you've been fine. I hope you find a fantastic new oncologist soon!
I wonder why he was buying them though. Could he have been trying to help a cancer patient, but, not waiting for FDA approval? Guess I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Leeza,
These drugs were already approved by FDA but it is illegal to buy them from anywhere but US operated companies. These drugs were bought from a Canadian company. The problem seems to be that if not bought in US then you don't know if you are getting the correct stuff. I'm heart broken over it all and I can't in good conscience continue to go there to any of the drs.

There has been a huge problem obtaining these drugs this year especially. Many young leukemia patients here were being turned away at some of the hospitals when coming for chemo. This may have been his only source for these drugs. obviously the problem lies with big business trying to use patients to blackmail the system being used to manufacture and market the meds. So your doc may be a hero.0 -

It is not the first time here on this board. At least twice as far as I recall.
Sorry that you shocked and have to look for a new oncologist
Congratulations on two years with NED0 -

I'm heart broken over it because of how you feel now. I can understand how you want to find a new onco, I would too. I am so very sorry this happened.

Like Olga has stated .. this is not the first time this subject has been brought
forward on our board -- I am appalled and shocked, each and every time by the
news. I overwhelmed for all the patients questioning the chemo given to them during
their cancer fight, and did they get the best possible medication/treatment as
promised.
Hap Hap Happy dance for you .. and 2 years of dancing with NED.
Strength, Courage and HOPE for a Cure.
