PET/CT
I don't see my surgeon until next Friday and my rad onc until the following week so I'll have to wait at least a week to get my results....so nerve wracking!! I know right now that some are in the thick of treatment and others are just getting started on treatment either for the first time and some are having to repeat treatment or treat new areas so my concerns seem a little silly right now but I still can't help but be nervous.
That being said, just know that each night I say a prayer for all of the friends on this site.
My best to all.
Billie

Not
Not silly at all. I think most of us can relate to " scanxiety". Prayers for a clean bill of health.....

All normal
Billie,
All your feeling is normal, happens all the time to me, does the place you get your scans give you a CD and a copy of the written report. Mine does, gives me the CD when I leave, not that I can open it or even read it, but I can call a day or 2 after and get the written copy. My onco visit is always a week after the scan, and my nerves get the best of me,but I figure if there was something out of the norm she would call me prior to the scheduled visit. Blessings to you for the positive outcome ...

It's perfectly ok to be
It's perfectly ok to be nervous. It's a big concern to see if you beat the beast . I got mine done on friday and get my results tomorrow, have a good test relax and try not to think of the results until next Friday
i wish you the best of everything0 -

Blackswampboy and Billie be positive, the mind is a very
powerfull thing. If you think negative, negative things will
happen, always think positive so positive things happen.
We all get some kind of "scanxiety" just try not to stress
because theres nothing you can do about it anyway.
Having said that, prayers will be said for NED for you both.
God bless

Watching all you guys go for your scans....
has me contempating how nerve wracked will I be when I go? Because my chemo lasted another 2 1/2 months past my rads, my scans aren't going to happen unitl the end of November (3 months after the last treatment)...they are far enough away, I don't feel any stress now...but when I know you guys are getting yours, I feel that feeling come up in me that says "make it all gone, make it NED...nobody derserves to go thru this again"....we feel each others fears and pain....
Your scan will be just fine, Billie...I can feel it....I'm just sorry you have to wait to week to find that out yourself.

Oh so normal..and in all honesty each time you go for that scan for some time it will be nerve-racking ..par for the course...
..but when you get that NED ...just think how GREAT that feeling will be...
Best,
Tim
As usual (and all are probably tired of me saying it) but I whispered a prayer for you both to be NED just before I hit the post button!0 -
Comfort in Numbers..
You have a number of us here pulling for you, and offering comfort.
More than likely all will go well, at most a little residual which isn't that uncommon for first scans.
Thoughts and prayers you both will be with the fortunate that have clean scans up front.
Best,
John0 -

I think the worst thing for me , is the position I have to keep with my arms above my head, after awhile my left shoulder starts to hurt.
Looking for my pom-poms to cheer all the scans to NED outcome.0 -

Good thoughts and prayers for you from St Louis
Praying for you and Bswampboy NEDs for now and forever. Yes as P51 said its the belief that ok we had cancer and we fought the fight took our licks and now its time to know it was worthwhile and we beat the cancer and we are now NED. I told Diane the other day (note she is a breast cancer survivor so she gets it) that I am more anxious about my scan on Oct 3rd than I was when I was dx with cancer for these very reasons. Getting cancer sucked, but after 6 months of the trips to the Doctors, Chemos, RADS being sick and just the basic changes it does to a family somehow it will all have been worth it if we could just hear those 3 sweetest letters NED. So I pray we all get that news. Keep us updated and you will be fine.0
