My Sister's Results/Update
This is what I jotted down but don't think I've seen some of these dx on here.A few words I've never seen so maybe some on the Board can help me.
Left Breast-Colloid(musinous)carcinoma,Nuclear Grade 1(I had her to spell this for me.)
Right Breast-Invasive DC, Focal DCIS.I know DCIS because I had non invasive but not sure what FOCAL is. This is all I know.I got puzzled since I only know some of what this is.I learn alot from all of you and your dx.
One more thing she was told that as long as the lymph nodes don't test postive she won't need chemo. Won't know till her surgery.
The other worry is just before her dx she changed insurance. The problem is she's never sick so she isnt covered as much as she should be. She talked of reconstruction but not sure about that. Monday her and her family will be seeing the surgeon to talk about what will be done.Taking one dsy at a time
WOW I expected this but painful. My Mom,niece,me and now my sister.
Will let all of you know more by Monday. When she'll have surgery.

It is hard to even find the words to say how sorry I am Lynn. I know how badly this would hurt if it were my Sister. I am very sorry.
Was what you wrote down from her final pathology report? Her surgeon will go over the report with her when she sees him. I think the focal is local, so, just a misspelling maybe? You can have invasive dc and dcis in the same breast.
Sending hugs,

Thank You for your concern. She is the same age I was when dx.62.Also upsetting Strange but this family history really hit us HARD!!!!!
You are probably right.I told her to spell it for me.Her daughter was with her.She repeated it as focal.I asked 2 times to spell it.Could be the doctor's writing and she saw it wrong.
Surgeon Monday. She saw her family doctor today. The office called her and asked her when she can come in.She said now.So they took her in right away.

Wow Lynn! I'm so sorry for all of you! What a history in your family! When I got cancer both of my sisters were so upset - I can imagine how this is effecting you. Know that my prayers are going out for your sister and I hope she gets the best news possible under the circumstances.

I did some research on on
I did some research on mucinous or colloid carcinoma after my DX because its histology has some similarities to inflammatory breast cancer, which turned out to be my DX. Like IBC, it tends to be poorly differentiated and locally widespread, but unlike IBC it is very slow growing and with a much lower risk of lymph and other mets. It is often ER+ so even though chemo probably won't be needed, taking an aromatase inhibitor following surgery is likely. It generally has a low grade and a good prognosis.
Hoping for the best for both her and you.

Lynn - I am very sorry about
Lynn - I am very sorry about your sister's results. No matter the family history, no matter that we are not alone in this journey, no matter that we won't be the first or last, and no matter that we've been there, and can offer all the help we can...the fact is, it is painful each and every time. We don't want anyone (not even our enemies) to go through this experience. The truth is, no one deserves this. And I am so sorry you had to experience this pain, AGAIN.
I pray your sister stays strong through the entire process and recovers entirely, and quickly. She can join this forum too! We'll be glad to cheer her up and help in any way we can. I am sure you will be a great support for her, being that you are her sister, and have gone through the same experience. But we're always here.
Hang in there. We will stay positive for her. Sending prayers your way...

Nancy thank you for telling me alot about her cancer.I've been wanting to look it up but haven't had time. I just talked to her about a hour ago.I think her surgery will be next week. They seem to be working fast. She thinks so too but she said testing the lymph nodes is first. My friend and others on here have had the surgery and checked the lymph nodes during the surgery.Seems what I read. Then if any positive nodes they take them out.
Love Baby Jesus. You put it just the way I feeI.I always say I would never wish this on anyone including those I don't care for.And if we don't care for them we have good reasons. For me I actually see them doing VERY wrong things so can't help feeling the way I do.I could pray for them but it wouldn't work because they go to church all the time.So that would be a lost cause in my book.Just happy it's not family.
It's only been 3 years for me so I'm still not comfortable. Now her cancer.

Angie, she sees the surgeon tomorrow. As fast as she got in I think the surgery will be this week. She said she gives up and wants nothing(chemo) done if the cancer is in her nodes.I told her many bc survivors had it in their lymph nodes and living a long life.I have 2 friends that did and still living. She also thought her nodes will be checked first and then the mascetomies. I told her it will all be done at once. With both breasts and 2 tumors in each alot to comprehend.
Like someone said I can help her.I have but I've learned alot from the Board and my dx.It just amazes me all the many different chemos/treatments etc and those who are going through it again and again. It makes me very happy when you read some that are now in remission after having mets. I always say "Believe In Miracles".
