yes, take picsKTeacher said:Me too!
Not for sympathy. Many people were curious, a picture showed what I was doing each day! I kept my mask also, plan to decopage it with butterfly print fabric--mine was used twice!
YES, definitely take pics. I am sorry that I didn't think of it.0 -
Why not
Hi Mrs. Sarge,
I never took pictures but I did invite my wife in to witness the complete radiation procedure (last time). My doctor and technicians all said fine. She watched me gargle, rinse and spit, pick out my music, lie down on the table, rub my face, scratch my arms (make sure I didn’t itch) and put on the mask, for the 35th and last time. She then accompanied the technician around the corner where they described every minute of treatment, throughout the ordeal.
Even with me telling her about it, she was surprised at how detailed and professional everyone was. I was glad I asked if she could watch. I just had to have her walk in my shoes (so to speak). Not to scare her mind you, to include her in my adventure.
I never took a picture, but I do have the mask and who knows what I might do with it.
Better do it now, it will be over before you know it, say chesse.

I'll have to have the Tech's take mine on my last day...
my husband wants nothing to do with that "back room", tho my sister's are highly curious. Now that you've brought it up, I'm getting a pic on my very last day.

PS...whats wrong with a little extra sympathy...I'm sure these ground hog days are moving way faster for everybody else, than they are for us!!0 -

I don't think you are weird. Please post the picture. I wish Jim would have let me take a picture or brought the mask home after treatment so we could show it to our two children that smoke.

My wonderful tech took several pictures of me on the table so I could show my wife what I was going through.
People ask so many questions that a picture is worth a thousand words! It has nothing to do with seeking sympathy.

My wife took two photos of me in the mask and on the table being "strapped" down.
She also took one on the last day when I rang the bell.
God bless

Dan,
Did you really ring a bell? I just picked up my mask and went to chemo. Now, there is a burger joint in Salem that let’s you honk a horn if you like the food, but it is not quite the same. Maybe there afraid the bell would scare the technicians in the other room?
Just for fun,

Not Crazy At All
From the time I started my rads last nov , ended dec 30th, each time a new family memeber came to visit the techs let them come back to see how I was set up on the table with the mask..I think they were more worried about the "mask" than i was, once they saw it and how comfortable I was , strange I know, with having the procedure done it aliviated some of the concerns they had for me.My mask sits in my bedroom, I've wanted to take it to a Michaels store to have it framed almost 3-D , it was and always will be a part of my life.

Some I took (the HUGE door to the rads room, techs, machines); some techs took (me in mask on the table). Have my mask, as well. My family can't even look at the mask.
Not sure about the pix- didn't occur to me. I just tried to take it more in stride, rather than make more out of it than just getting it done, I guess one might say. Did keep the mask, though, when it was all over.

my second rad session of the day and my final one (33) and then my wife
Took the photo.
God bless

Keepsake...
Don't feel weird about wanting pictures...this is our journey ! Wanting to document what we have been through as cancer survivors is never wrong ! Heck I want to use mine as a halloween decoration...LOL ! My kids think Mom's lost her mind. Do whatever it takes to get through this....it's all up to you. Best wishes, Katie0 -

the more determined I am to get the techs to take a pic of me during the last week. Hubby really doesn't want to know, but my sisters and some of my friends all have a touch of Tom Sawyer in them, and want to see (reference to trading a dead cat for a chance to whitewash a fence...LOL)
Hubby will be gone for 3 days next week for his own medical stuff, so my sisters are taking me to rads...perfect opportunity....yes!

Pictures
I'm the same way. I had a friend take pictures of me being positioned and secured to the table. The pictures made explanations to friends and coworkers a lot easier too. And as you can see by my ID photo, I kept my mask, and mounted the thing on my wall like a trophy.0
