Some prayers for my friend, please

Things have not been going well for Mary. She has been hospitalized for over a week with congestive heart failure and clots in lungs. She is going home on hospice care. Cancer is now in her lungs and liver and once again, it's smarter than the chemo. She has had so many complications, so much progression, and all in such a short time. She was diagnosed only a year ago. This is such a shock to everyone. I think we'd all accepted that she wouldn't beat this, but we did expect some response to something instead of only one thing after another. She did have CARIS testing and was on a Doxil which was supposed to be effective. Not.

My friend and I have the quilt top pieced now and it's off to the quilter on Thursday and it will be ready Friday. Then we just have to sew on the binding and embroider her label and attach it. She should be able to gift it to her son and fiancee early next week if all goes well.

Once again I ask for prayers for Mary.

Oh Suzanne, it is so hard
Oh Suzanne, it is so hard to watch a loved one battle against this vicious disease. You are a true friend to Mary - she could not ask for more love or support. To finish the quilt for her to give to her son will mean so much to her - I can think of no lovlier and more poignant gift.
Best wishes, Suzanne. I will remember Mary in my prayers.

My thoughts and prayers go
My thoughts and prayers go to your friend that she may be kept comfortable and and pain free. That some of those with apparently the same cancer show little or no response to treatments is so very distressing.

A few weeks back I attended a memorial service for poster strongformom's mother whom I had met at a local support group. She was diagnosed only last summer and her cancer never responded to the various chemos despite indications of being appropriate via Caris testing. She had been such a vibrant lady yet the cancer did not care.

It is such a wonderful gesture you and friends have made with the quilt project. What a lovely last memory for her to have. You are such a good friend!

I'm so sorry for your loss,
I'm so sorry for your loss, Suzanne. It's so hard to let go of those we love. I know she felt your love....and gained peace from that. Hang on to your memories. Friends like this will live on forever in your heart.

I am so sorry to hear about Mary. I hope she had comfort at the end. Sending hugs to you. Finishing her quilt was quite a gift of friendship. In peace and caring.

Suzanne,So sorry for your loss. Sounds like she had a lot to deal with at the end. THe human, frail body can only take so much. I am sure she was at peace. You were a good friend. God BLess the family of Mary
