Well - dad has passed away..
As soon as we got to our seats, got the phone call he was rushed to ICU, pressure bottomed and H&H too. They transfused 2 more units in ICU.
My brother and I ran out down the stadium ramps, flagged down a cop and had a police escort form stadium to our car a mile and a half away. From where we were, my dad was another 2 hours away.
We made it though. He passed away at 4:15am.
I guess his tumor hemorrhaged, massively. He struggled towards the end which was so hard to see. I just felt so helpless for him. But ultimately we were by his side as we said goodbye.
He was diagnosed 8/19/11 and died 1/15/12.
Now we know why he could eat better the past couple of days.
I am a mess.

I am so sorry for your loss!
Parents are special breed. They are so important to us, their children. Thank God for the role a good parent plays in our lives.
Please hold your memories close and "take them out" as needed to bring a smile. That's what your dad would want, I believe.
Condolences,
Terry0 -

I'm so sorry for you loss. What a devastating disease. I am so glad you were able to be with dad when he passed, and I know how helpless and terrifying it is to watch someone you love so much slip away, with nothing you can do to help. I'm glad you were able to hold him and help him transition to his next phase in his journey. May you find comfort in all of your memories in the days to come.

So sorry
I'm so sorry for your loss. I pray that wonderful memories will bring you some comfort. Eric is right, don't feel badly about going to a game. Only God knows when someones time on earth is over and there's no way anyone could have predicted this. The upside for your dad is that he's no longer suffering. He's still with you in spirit so make him very proud! Weap when you need to and smile when you can.
Hugs and prayers to you,
Rita0 -
