First follow up PET

I understand how you feel. As I survivor I have learned to hate that wait for the results!!!
Even though I try to convince myself that no amount of worrying will change the outcome, I still hate the wait for the results. But it sounds like the indicators are all pointing toward a positive outcome, so that is good news. And you will have an indication of how effective this treatment plan is and if it is not as effective as they hoped; better to change course early in the process.
Your Dad is lucky to have you there to support him as the results come in.
Here's hoping for good news on Wednesday!!

For the kind words. Paul, did you have radiation as well? Our medical onco changed Dad's from Epirubicin to Taxotere due to "radiation recall" and said that since he is a Stage IV and not a surgical candidate he didn't want to use the Epirubicin because we are hoping to get to radiation. Just curious, I have yet to do research on the radiation recall effect of chemo drugs. Thanks0 -

No I did not have radiation. They originally thought I was Stage I so I went straight to surgery. The post surgery pathology showed a positive node so I had my chemotherapy after surgery without radiation.

Dad's PET shows complete stinking remission!!!! Stage IV with mets to distant lymphs, literally in shock. Two more rounds of cisplatin, taxotere, and 5FU, then 4 week break before 25-27 rads with cisplatin and 5FU concurrent. Good gosh. Doc says still hoping for long term (3-5) year remission. It's only 8:30 AM and I feel a celebratory beverage is in order!!!!0 -

We couldn't believe it! I mean we did not expect to see this after six weeks of chemo. If I hadn't seen the PET with my own eyes, and read the radiology report "no signs of metastatic cancer growth" , I probably wouldn't have believed the onco!!!! I can't stop smiling.0 -
