Did y'all miss me?
I finally have time to get on here and give everyone an update, so sorry for the delay! Special thanks to Gami43 for my beautiful ornament that I received! I finished my finals and have been spending time with family/friends and working a lot. I took a trip up to Michigan to visit some girlfriends and spent New Years Eve in Chicago, so life has been busy but incredible.
I had my followup petscan right before Christmas and things didn't look good. A bone marrow biopsy confirmed that I am not responding to treatments. Its a pretty hopeless feeling, but I haven't slowed down enough to feel sad. I scheduled my surgery for Jan 18th, so rev up the pink bus. I'm having more of my femur removed as well as some of the glut/quad muscles. The recovery time is a little longer this time since they are removing muscle as well as bone and I will have to start Physical Therapy all over again, but I'm a trooper and I'll be up in walking in no time. I'm still going to do school this semester, but I'll probably only take 2 classes. I start classes on Monday and a new nanny job and I'm taking a girls weekend up to my family's condo in Colorado for MLK weekend. So it should be a fun time before I have to slow down officially haha. We all know how much I hate sitting around and not being busy.. but I'm going to give this "patience" thing another shot. I'll be in the hospital for a week after my surgery, but I have faith that I will bounce back in no time.
They also found a spot on my right ankle, and I'm pretty sure it's just a stress fracture from all of the running I was doing this summer, but better safe than sorry- so I'm having an MRI on that in about an hour. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Love you girls!

You amaze me Kat! I don't know how you do all that you do! You are certainly an inspiration to everyone.
Wishing you good luck with your surgery and the pink bus will be gassed up and ready to go.
Great to see you post and hugs and prayers,

Great to hear from you
Great to hear from you. Sorry you have to have more surgery but your strength and attitude are an inspiration to all of us.

Honestly, can't find the words...
Beyond just... total & utter AMAZEMENT. You ROCK, Kat! :-)
Happy & HEALTHIER New Year wishes for YOU! With heartfelt best HOPES for all that's already planned to go very smoothly and with terrific results.
Kind regards, Susan0 -
Another amazing post from Kat,
of course we miss you when we don't hear anything, but am always hopeful it is because you are too busy living, which you are! I don't know how you keep up with all of your activities but it is so good to hear that the cancer is being treated but that school, family, friends and life activities still take center stage.
Yes we will be on the bus with you on the 18th, and with you for your week in the hospital, so if they complain about all the noise you can just smile and pretend that it is not a double decker full of pinks! I don't think a double decker will even be big enough!
Kat, this news sucks and when you are not feeling too hopeful, you know where to come, we are all here for you.
Good luck on the patience, love, hope, and prayers go out to you.

Special Angel Girl, Kat! What a powerful, formidable WARRIOR you are. I am honored
to be in your presence. -- I humbled by all that you do, and all that you ARE.
I am amazed by your 'give them hell', not going to stop me attitude --. I now know,
where the 'never give up, or never give in' phase was coined -- by YOU!.
Please know that I along with many others will be with you .. and our prayers, hope
and strength for your recovery -- continue day in, and day out -- dear Kat.
I simply adore YOU, and admire your STRENGTH!
Gentle hugs, dear one.

It's Kat!!!!!
Hi Kat -- Always great to see you here and yes we have missed you.
First of all, I'm sad that you're still going through this challenge. But I'm not too worried about you because you have so much will power inside of you - enough for an entire army, I think. So to me that's very encouraging. I think staying positive and not losing faith is just as important - if not more - as the treatment itself. And you have both.
God bless you and may he continue to give you inner strength.
You'll continue to be in my prayers.0 -

BTW, is this your current hairdo in the picture?
