Hmmm...should I tell you about the email from GYN? or my trip to the ER?...
Now the ER...I woke up Fri at 2 with severe pain, left lower rib area...that's the cancer side...I had trouble breathing. So off we go to the ER. By 7am they ruled out the heart and blood clots and were talking discharge. I had 8am chemo, 10am onc, and 10:30 wound care appointments lined up on the same campus. (Yes, I am that efficient...lol.)
So I checked in at chemo to see if they still wanted to do it, by the time 8am rolled around I was back in severe pain again. My onc came down to the chemo area to see me, gave me pain meds. They made me throw up (and I NEVER throw up)! So here I am crying in my chemo chair, having a hard time breathing, and the poor newbies in their chemo chair across the way can see everything. I was so worried about them, especially the wife!
My onc thinks the pain might be very early pneumonia, and admits me back to the hospital for more tests and observation. We do more pain meds, lots of blood tests, CT scan, trouble with IV's and port access, and a bone scan. Blah, blah blah. All the tests just confirm what we already know (CA in the lymph nodes between the lungs), and no cause for the pain is found.
The last of the percocet was Friday night, by Sat noon I'm feeling better and just want out. Finally about 5:30 on Sat all the stars align and I am freed....Can I just remind you all how wonderful your own shower feels?
Happy New Year Everyone!
Hugs,
Linda

Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you too Linda! Sorry you had to go thru all that cra_ yesterday! It sounds like things are better today, New Year's ... you must need sleep! Will you make it til midnite?
Strange that the pain just came and went without an answer. Can't be a kidney stone, or something unrelated, could it?
You are one tough lady, I've read your other posts, and send you warm hugs and lots of wishes for Feeling Better A S A P and for the New Year! We all need a better New Year...

You certainly finished off 2011 with a bang. You must have been scared to death - not to mention your husband and children.
Is your pain and shortness of breath still a mystery? Has anyone ventured a theory about what it was? I hope it never comes back.
Did you get your chemo? I can just see you in the infusion center crying. Wish I could have been there to give you a hug.
Here's to a much better 2012. 2011 was not a particularly good year for you.

TMI? On This Board--Never
Linda, sorry to hear of your ER experance yesterday. It's very hard to deal with not knowing where this severe pain is coming from. Too bad for the "newbies" to see such a show on chemo day, huh? LOL!! Woman's issues ARE the topic on this board and I know about menopause;birth control & pap smears,so I'm O.K. with TMI. Nothing like your own shower or bed for that matter.
Hope that this new year is better for you,Linda. Sending Hugs & Prayers your way. Feel the Love, too.

@ Suzanne and LD...we still
@ Suzanne and LD...we still don't know what caused it. No one mentioned a kidney stone, so I'll look into that. The one theory that makes sense to me is a build up of lymph fluid, and with pain killers and drinking lots of water the lymph fluid was able to dissipate. I'm going to run that theory by my LE therapist to see what she thinks.
Suzanne we did not do the chemo. I would have gladly accepted the hug, but it would have made me cry more...and you had better get that picture of me crying out of your head right now...it certainly was not pretty!!
Robert, thanks for understanding (glad it's not TMI) and for the good wishes. I hope we can all avoid the ER in 2012!
Hugs,

BOOM - ROASTED!
as my daughter would say when something ends up good. At least that's what I see in your note. Good bye 2011 ... I wonder if a lil chemo would've cured that year. NOT!!! Anyway, I hope someone can find out why you were in so much pain. AND ... are your services for hire? Seriously .... done with ER at 7AM and having chemo at 8AM is so organized.
Gotta love that.
Best wishes for a better year.
xoxo

In spite of everything, you maintain your sense of humor
Dear Linda,
In spite of everything that happened to you, you still maintained your sense of humor. That's is what will keep you going. You are right...one's own shower is wonderful. Happy New Year to you.
Lots of Hugs,
Janelle0 -
First things first, congrats
First things first, congrats on menopause and normal Pap. Both are important and great news. When I was 33, I had a tubal because my oncologist said we had to do something to ensure no more kids and, at the time, with me having Stage 3, I chose to do something because I thought Danny might want more kids with someone else. Lol, here I am 25 years later and I should have made him get fixed ;-) instead. I know, this really is TMI. Sorry.
Secondly, I am sorry and concerned to hear about the pain. I hope it is resolved. You are always such a shining star on the message board: so wise and caring and wonderful. I just want you better and would take your pain if I could! (((Hugs my friend))) And the next time I am in California, we are meeting!0 -

You are a Wonder
Linda,
I have to say you have a great sense of humor. I enjoy reading your postings. I know you are going through a very hard time right now, but you remind me of myself. I always joke about my cancer and anything that happens regarding it. It helps me cope I guess. I hope you enjoyed your own shower. I know how the hospital can be. UGH. Happy New Year and may you have health and happiness in 2012.
