OMG update on my chemo from last Monday
Thanks so much for all the advise this place is sure a great place.
Well this chemo thing sure did kick my butt. I was fine on Monday and Tuesday and then on Wed it hit me like a train and I was in bed for 3 days. Was able to get up some on Friday but still felt so sick to my stomach and tired.I am still feeling nausea now. I sure don't like this ride and sure want off.I am still taking the nausea meds fell ok when I do.
I go to the Dr tomorrow for blood work, hope I feel better will surely tell them.I know you have to drink but oh my it is so hard.
I saw my Dr also on Monday and now I have to have 5 weeks of radiation also after chemo,Oh yeah.
My plastic surgeon has stopped all fills to my breast til after chemo for fear of infection,he will fill me all up after chemo before I do the radiation.
I will check back in again soon.To all take care..

Sorry the chemo hit you so
Sorry the chemo hit you so hard. And yes, it can be difficult sometimes to get enough water to drink. I always found it easier to take lots of small sips throughout the day, it was easier than trying to chug a full glass. I did count the number of glasses I was able to finish in a day, to make sure I got enough.
The same thing with food. It will actually help the nausea if you can eat small amounts frequently, even if it is only a bite or two at a time. The other thing that worked for me was carnation instant breakfast (it's now breakfast essentials). For some reason, when nothing else appealed to me but I knew I had to have something I could get that down...and I'm not usually a milk drinker. The vanilla worked best for me, and it was recommended in my chemo class.
I hope this finds you feeling better.
Hugs,

Sorry the chemo was so rough on you, but I can sure identify.
I took FEC & Taxotere and it knocked me off my feet. Hopefully
your next tx won't be so bad. Be sure and tell your doc about
your prolonged nausea, he can probably give you something else
or add to your current medication to put a stop to that. When I
didn't have an appetite I could manage to eat oatmeal, jello and
pudding, go figure. Here's hoping your blood work is good. Hang
in there friend; you can do it and we're all here pulling for you.

So sorry...
You're experiencing these things with your chemo. Please consider doing what other sisters suggest: eat in small amounts frequently, drink a lot of water (room temperature is best), try to eat light foods (no greasy stuff, no meat), chicken broths, crackers are good things to eat (as you probably know). Ativan helped me a lot with this feeling. I never threw up once thanks to ativan. It helps with both stomach and anxiety. Rest a lot! And I hope you feel much better.
You'll have bad days, but then there will be better ones. Just rest sister!

yup it's Crap
I had the good days, the crappy days, and then the semi crappy days. After a while I got most of my work done on the good days, and kept things at bay on the semi crappy days. You will get through this, and will be able to time your most important work durring feel good days.0 -
feel better
drink, drink, drink!!
While juices may help - water was best for me. You may have to resort to gator-ade (which is torture in itself to me!) or the like.
You WILL feel better.
Keep your spirits up and your attitude as positive as you possibly can!0 -

yes, that 3rd day is a doozy! I was able to time it by my watch. Of course, lay down and get plenty of rest. It's be over, just focus on that. Praying for you...

Hoping that it will get easier for you. It is just so sad that something that is helping us to fight the beast makes us so sick.
Hang in there,
