Jingle all the way! update
Many of you might know that I've been chemoing for the last 23 months for a 1st recurrance after being NED for 3 1/2 years (3c). In October my CAs dropped to 48... not in normal range, but I was over the moon. In Nov. they jumped to 150 and I really began to panic.
I had a CT scan and saw my ONC this week and my my CAs were 46 AND he gave me the month of December off from chemo!!! I'm determined to see how strong I can get in a months time and to enjoy every minute. love you all.......... Maria
PS: I feel how shaken many of us are from the tragic losses that have occurred recently. It's difficult to celebrate even small victories in the midst of this. I had a friend who was diagnosed the same time as I was and she wasn't as "lucky" as I have been. I had lots of survivor guilt until I realized that she would want me to fight and to enjoy life. I think of her so often, but mostly when I'm having good times for I feel like I'm enjoying them for both of us.

congradulations
on your ca125 and your month off. I'm 18 months into my first recurrance. Had my ca125 done yesterday and I'm soooooo hoping the numbers come down, last one was 306. I agree with you when you lose someone you know or when you hear of someone who was just diagnosed, it does bother me. Enjoy your time off, get strong and like you said enjoy every minute. Kathy0 -
Oh Maria! Happy for you!
What a relief to be off chemo this month! So glad your CA dropped again to 46. We must celebrate and I am dancing for you!
I know what you mean about the losses and survivor guilt. Not only when we were first diagnose we said "why me" but surviving we also say "why me". There is only one conclusion......celebrate everything because our loved ones lost wouldn't want it any other way.
((((Maria))) Enjoy and keep jingling!

Get Super Strong !
You are very strong in spirit and I'm sure that you can strengthen your body alot in a month.
This board has had many tragic losses but each one of those women have given me such gifts by sharing with us that it is 'almost' bearable. We are not exchanging food ideas or crafts we are sharing life saving treatments some of us may see a cure one day some of us won't but what we have here is so amazing I would be lost without it. Your picture Maria is one that always makes me smile and you are right our 'victories' belong to those who have gone before us also.

Enjoy
Maria you enjoy every minute. I am so happy to hear your good news. It is so good to get a break over Christmas. That makes me happy for you too.
I know how you feel also, as others have said, about the losses we have had recently. It took be a while before I could even come back to the board. Linda P really hit me hard. I felt guilty that I was still here. And I know a young man that didn't get good news before Thanksgiving and I felt guilty over that too.
You have a wonderful holiday. You deserve it sweety.

and deck the halls. I am so happy for you. A chemo break is just the you need. Enjoy the Christmas with your loved ones and cherish each moment. Any victory big or small is a miracle. We have had many sad days with the loss of our teal family.they are with God now and nothing can ever hurt them again. I believe they are asking for a cure for us for Christmas. val0 -

Maria, I'm SOOO happy for you!! You have been through the wringer month after month, and a break is so needed and welcome, I'm sure. By Christmas your energy will be full on. You have always been so supportive and encouraging of others. It's time for you to rest and receive a bit of a return on all of the love you have sent out.0 -

Happy for you
So happy for you Maria. I want you to enjoy your time without chemo and to have a wonderful holiday with your family and friends. Yes those losses are hard for all of us and I will remember what Val said that they are asking for a cure for all their teal sisters. I will always remember all the good advice Linda gave to us and her beautiful picture. I really admired her so much. I did not know Nancy but I have heard of some of her great advice and will carry that with me. Maria hoping that you build up your health and enjoy. Hugs Sharon0 -

OMG! I can't imagine going on as long as you have on chemo, Maria! I'm just getting started with carbo/gemcitabine and I'm ready to cry "Uncle" myself.
Enjoy the holidays, you certainly have beat the survival odds. I'm hoping that since you did it, then I can, too.0 -
You Inspire Me
Hey Hon - you inspire me - love love love to you this holiday season and totally enjoy your reprieve - I was NED for 2 and a half years and just had my first recurrance - had laproscopic surgery 3 weeks ago (it was the BEST compared to the full deal) and will be starting gemzer carpoplatin and avastin this week for 6 cycles - my #'s were in the 4,000's before 1st surgery and 11 at the lowest last year now they are 36 and I am praying that we both will have single digits for the New Year! No Guilt (our angel friends who have gone before us are watching over us) and no worries - PEACE MY DEAR0 -
