More Good News

I want to pile on with the good news. I went to both my "butt" Dr. and my chemo oncologist this past Monday for a scheduled 6 month checkup and everything is looking good. As my colorectal doctor said "I think you have this behind you now." (Seriously, he used those words. Maybe that is just funny to me? )

I am now 2.5 years post tx, so I am sharing because 1) I'm very happy and 2) I want all of you whom are still going through this or have just recently finished treatments to know that there are a LOT of good stories. Yes, it was horrible for a while and I so empathaize with y'all that are still living this. While I still have issues and side effects (and probably always will unfortunately), I am alive and here to complain about them occasionally.

I've posted this before, but my mission now is to encourage everyone I know with a teenager or young adult (Male and Female!) to get them the Gardisil vaccine. I tell them they don't want their loved ones to ever have to go through what I went through (or cervical cancer if female). If I can convince someone to do this and potentially prevent anal cancer from happening to someone down the road I will feel that something good has come out of my experience. I encourage others to do the same.
