Whats the correct level of TSH after thyroidctomy?

I had my thyroidctomy in november 2010 and RAI december 2010. it was papillary. my result is clean so far till date. but i m confused with one thing. i had my treatment in Bankok. my doctor there said i should keep my TSH <0.01 but my endo in my country saying it shoud be around 0.04. i m having thyroxin 125ml. my current level of TSH is 0.01. but i m confused with my two doctors. which level should i keep? pls help.

    Doctors disagree
There seems to be some disagreement about the TSH. My endo says it should be around zero; but others say it should be a bit higher. I think it depends partly upon your risk of recurrence--and also your doctor. Perhaps if you mention to your doctor in the States that you are confused because of what your doctor in Bankok said, you can get some information that will help clear up the confusion. Are you feeling OK with the level you are at now?

    Hi Farzana
They is very little difference between the levels the doctors are telling you. They keep your TSH suppressed for at least one to three years to keep the recurrence rate low. If you feel okay don't worry. Keep taking the dose you are on.
