We have had a rough day too. In the hospital for the evening. Hope you all have continued success tomorrow.

Lee,
I know that is the last place you want to be. I pray it finds you the relief you need. Your experiences there may be difficult, but it will bring you much needed relief.
Words fail me, I will be thinking of you.

Lee,
Good luck in getting this problem corrected. You have such a great attitude, although I am sure about right now you want to throw something (LOL) or at least say "enough already" when is it my turn to get a break.
Prayers and Hugs to you both,

just a quick update, and a thank you for all your positive thoughts and prayers. Eric was right, we are a great family here.
Lee's nurse came by again in the afternoon, and after another chat with the doctor, we decided to say home, and try for movement here..... and VOILA, success!!! She told him the option was there to go to the hospital, but she would be able to do the exact things at home that the hospital would do, (without the scans)
The feeding tube site is still leaking brown/black goop, and he's vomited it a couple more times today, but overall, he seems to be much better tonight. We are going to closely monitor him tonight and tomorrow, and if there are any concerns at all, we are to either call the 24 hour on call nurse, or go directly to hospital. We were prescribed yet another anti-nauseant tonight, so we'll add it to the arsenal.
I still feel freaked out, the black goop is pretty disturbing (no one has really said what it was, but I think Whitney may have been right) I googled the heck out of it, and could find no mention of feeding tubes leaking that badly. Fingers, toes and eyes crossed that tomorrow finds us all clear.
Chantal
Big hugs. You *know* we are concerned about you both!
Here's hoping that resolution to this "yuck" is found today.
All our love & prayers,

I know this post is old and I pray you guys can help,
im also very bad a grammar but I’ll do my best
my mom is going through this same issue and we don’t know what to do, since she is in hospice care they told us she can go to the hospital. When her G-tube was placed about two months ago due to her having a bowel obstruction, the tube wasn’t going to be used for feeding rather to help drain pressure from her stomach. Well they perforated her small intestine dying the procedure. They essentially told us they couldn’t correct it as it was too dangerous and sent her home with us and they advised her to sign up for hospice. Well okay we did that, things weren’t great but she eventually started being able to use the restroom again and her tube wasn’t leaking. Well, now fast forward about 7 weeks I think she has another obstruction and now around her tube is this brown liquid that won’t stop leaking. The nurse told us to use gauze but there is just so much, she is unable to use the restroom or to get much to drain from the tube. It is all leaking around the tube soaking through everything. Please please if anyone has advise We need it.

I would contact Hospice. They should have an on-call nurse or hospital that you can contact. If they suggest using gauze again I would tell them that you have tried that and it does not seem to be stopping. If they do not help I would go to emergency at the hospital. Just because she is in hospice does not mean they should not address issues like this.

This site does not get much activity recently. I would suggest you post your question in the esophageal section of https://www.smartpatients.com/. That site is much more interactive and you would get more input than in this forum.
