    Costly
    After seeing all my MD Anderson bills I think I am going to re-name my cancer to Costly because it has sure been expensive.

    A while back one of the ladies told a story how one of her co-workers said "you lost weight and you sure look good" so we went and figured how much each lost pound cost.

    Speaking of cost
    One day while I was receiving an infusion of Avastin, and knowing how much my insurance was being billed for that drug, my husband an I calculated that the infusion was costing $15.00 per drop. Goooood stuff.

    Yep Very Costly

    If I put the math right I loss right at 51 lbs divide that by my Twice being treated would be just about $6,352.94 a pound. What a weight loss program, just glad I had insurance. Yep Costly is the right name of my Cancer or maybe I need to change it to Very Costly.

    'my cancer' - it's THE cancer - I'm not claiming it as my own! The bugger moved in, unpacked and hung pictures without my approval!

    Overwith and soon, right? So sick of Cancerland. I really don't know how people cope with this for years at a time. My husband's eighth and last chemo treatment is going on now and then we're waiting for a liver resection in January and then more chemo and probably a resection to address the met left in the lung at some point. All of this after going from our local oncologist to Duke at the beginning of the month thinking all the mets have shrunk and some have gone away...a little RFA and we could be one of the lucky NEDs. Now it's maybe by Summer we'll be able to take a break from this sh*t, but we could be dealing with chemo and surgery all next year. :P

    Yeah, with the 5FU shortages, Kenny's chemo costs $20,000 a treatment. SOOOO thankful we have decent health insurance!

    I have names for everything

    I had a bunch of nonmalignant tumors that got names, then there was Lucifer the cancer. I had Harvey, Moe, Curley, Larry and Jackarse. and there is another couple that don't have names yet. Thats the gang i got rid of. I have some more nonmalignant turors, and a few cysts. I haven't given them names yet either. Medical euqipment seems to get names. People think I'm a bit weird. Wally is my big O2 concentrator, Charlie is my POC and Betty, my bed was named by one of my former PCA's. I call those dreadful IV pumps that are always beeping Frankie. I would tell the nurses that Frankie was having another temper tantrum.
