Good Luck Denis!
I will keep you in my thoughts tomorrow!

Why?
Why is it we get weird at scan time? I understand it's a reminder that the cancer can come back, but I think it's more than that. Hope you're laughing at yourself soon. And hoping your kidneys are functioning well enough for you to get the whole enchilada at test time. No carbs? I never had to eat differently before scans - is this for PET? Do well.0 -

As you know my friend I will be there with you today in prayer. A little depression right before the scan is normal just do what I do, pray leaving it in the hands of the Man up above.
I also see you are just like me as my wife caregiver is always there to give me a little support, what would we do with out them.
God bless & keep you while in his workshop

Our Prayers are with you
Just had a pet scan, no cats or anything else, I got it all bassackwards, the stuff they put in you for pet is not bad for the kidneys it's the contrast dye they put in for the cat scan. I go back Monday for the results and a meeting and scope with the ENT. Thanks for all the prayers and support, they work, they really do0 -
exactly, its not the samedenistd said:Scans

That pet injection scared the crap out of me. They keep it in two lead lined boxes, put on a hazmat suit and will only touch it with tongs while in their little suit, and then they inject that inside you! :-/ So not cool. I don't remember having an issue with an allergy though, and I don't remember having to take a ton of benedryl before it? Maybe I did and I don't remember. I do remember that they couldn't do the CT scan the day they made my mask, and were supposed to do the radiation dry run or whatever it was supposed to be. I called the hospital and asked them if that was the day I was supposed to take the benedryl and something else the dr gave me so that I wouldn't have anaphylactic shock or whatever, because the contrast dye I had with the IVP I had, made me wheeze and struggle to breathe.... The idiots told me no. I asked again, and said - are you sure??? I think my doctor told me I was supposed to take something to prep for this. They told me no, so I didn't do it. I was being poked and prodded and tested, it was hard to keep track! I was trying to make sure I did the right thing. They screwed up and told me no. My doc was pissed. Oh well, I tried. It wasn't my fault!
So they had to go off the CT scan and Pet.0 -

Praying that you get a good report on Monday from both the C/T and the ENT.
Wishing you the best

Did you know after you get the injection for the PET scan you are no to go out in the public for 24 hours. They also tell you to drink plenty of water to flush out the kidneys as they filter the radiation out of the blood and into the urine.
After my PET I try to keep a distance for my family and wife as much as possible, even make the wife sleep in a different bed for the first 24 hour. Some might thing I am a nut for doing that but I don’t want my radiation to hurt anyone else until they know more about how it affects people around you. Best I know, no study has even been done on the side effects of people who live with us who do PET scan every 6 months.
Take care

No, I didn't know that. Guess it's a good thing I'm single. Although I am quite sure I slept right next to Nizzy that night. Could that be why he glows in the dark now?0
