taste changes
I have been out of chemo for 9 months and noticed most of the taste buds have returned to normal. It may not get any better for me,I don't know. I know in the beginning a lot of things tasted metallic. I could not even taste mustard. Mac and cheese tasted awful too and I love it the most. There are a few things that taste funny but for the most part it has returned to normal for me. John(FNHL-1-4A-5/10)0 -

Thanks for replying, John! Did it take a while for most of them to come back?0 -

I noticed most had returned in about 5 months out. I still have things that don't quite taste like it used too. Eggs is the one I notice the most that doesn't taste the same as it did before. John0 -
taste changes after chemo
My last chemo treatment with ABVD was 2 months ago, and I have been enjoying the taste of raw fresh sugar snap peas of all things. It comes and goes depending on what I am eating, but it has been slowly fading in intensity as time goes on. I did experience a metallic taste with some foods during chemo, but that has long passed which leads me to believe it will only be a matter of time before your taste buds bounce back to normal.

I did notice like you that things started tasting as they should about three months out and then all of a sudden the taste started to go again. In a week or so it was back to almost normal. Then some things would start tasting bad again. It was back and forth for a while. Then it got less and less of the bad taste. Like it could not make up its mind which way it wanted to go. Been 11 months now and for the most part all is tasting like it used too. John0 -
