Take it easy !
Glad you are starting to feel better, but slow is always good. No need to rush relax and catch up on your reading.

I'm following you. Having a rough time with carboplatin, avanstin and gemzar. Entering my 2nd phase. Bp went up to 162/100 last week so avanstin was stopped. Didn't have a good week, but coming out of my fog. Only to go again tomorrow. Nothing like the first round of chemo 2 yrs ago; so looking for improvement. I will remind you to take it slow if you promise to tell me too!

There was some research that indicated that the patients who responded best to Avastin also had elevated blood pressure. I am not sure why you were not treated with blood pressure medications and kept on the medication. Maybe they considered it too risky for you in general.

When I was on Avastin, fortunately my blood pressure stayed fairly normal. But all the nurses assumed I was on blood pressure meds because they said all of their Avastin patients were on them.0 -

Ahhhh, Tethys, you are an anomaly. Your diet was equivalent to anti-hypertensive medicine.

I was on bp meds (lisinopril) now changed to metropolo. Still running higher than my norm. Will find out next week if avanstin will be used again. Nausea and headaches are primary; this round of chemo is rougher than original. Any suggestions?0 -

Yippeeeeee..... feeling well enough to drive around and I even bought out the farmer's market yesterday. I'm enjoying every single moment that I can till my next chemo go round. As always, thanks for the support, my friends.

Lol, I went to the farmers market, too. It is something I like to do. The best part was that I drove myself there. Hugs...until the next round...I am taking as much advantage of the freedom.0 -

not sure why my onc doc only prescribed neupogen or neulasta one time...
i would have to ask him
i was glad to have the blood transfusions, instead of that awful bone pain
from taxol, and my hair grew back, shortly after the taxol was stopped
they really stuck it to me as far as chemo
"damn near kilt me" as we say in Texas, but i am in remission for about 8 months
and happy about that0
