Thank you!! Chemo starts Monday 8-01-11 which would also be my my sister's (she would have been 51, passed away at 43 from BC) birthday. I'm getting Gemcitibine/Carboplatin and it takes approx. 4 hours to infuse. I'll update after chemo as to how it's going, I'm staying positive and taking it one day at a time.
Hugs,
Kari
Dear Kari, I am praying that the infusion goes smoothly today and that you receive the best of care. xoxoxo Lynn0 -
I LOVE that story! i wasDouble Whammy said:17 year survivor
Kari-
I just wanted to let you know that I learned of a woman in my neck of the woods who is a 17-year Stage IV (yes, Stage IV) survivor. She was married when first diagnosed, the jerk left her, she had a recurrence (became Stage IV), had further treatments, became active in the BC community, met a man whom she married (when she was Stage IV) and lived happily ever after.
May you have a similar story.
Love,
Suzanne

I'll also be thinking of you tomorrow. Tomorrow is a busy day of testing and appointments and results. Good luck to all of us.
Praying that both of you, Laurissa and Kari will get thru chemo as easily as possible. I just wish I could do so much more for you two.

I didn't get a chance to add how sorry I am for the loss of your sister Kari. I know she is in Heaven sending all the strength to you that she can.

I'm Here, I'm Here.
Sorry for taking so long to update everyone, the internet was down a day and I've been resting as much as possible. I started the Gemcitibine/Carboplatin chemo's last Monday, and it's been a bumpy ride, fatigue, nausea, dehydrated....but nothing that I can't get under control. Maybe, what I'm trying to say is, it could be better, but it could be worse, and with that being said, I'm ok I pray for all of this board everyday and now I need to try to get caught up on how the rest of you are doing. I feel like a "Bad, BC Buddy" so I'm going to give it my all to try and get to more posts more often, because you are all so important to me.
Back in the fight and in it to win it,

Ahh thank you for posting. You are one tough cookie Kari. I love your attitude, "In It To Win It" what a positive motto. You are doing it one day at a time. We are all here cheering you on to the win. Hugs0 -

First, it is great to see an update from you. And second, don't you worry about trying to reply to any post on here except telling us how you are doing. You are going thru a lot right now Kari and no one expects you to do anything except take care of yourself. OK?
Sorry the chemo has been bad for you. You just rest and take care of yourself.
I'm sending you tons of prayers and hugs! Keep updating us please Kari!
