liver mets scan on Monday

Hello all. Just got a call from my oncologist my liver bloodwork test was wacky. I noticed for several days now somethings not right. I've lost 10 lbs in a week, no appetite, bloating discomfort in right back area, sweaty. I thought the sweats were from menopause starting so doctor did blood tests and wants a catscan done. Its so scary waiting again. Those with liver mets, could you give me some encouraging words? Thanks and I'll keep you posted.

    Hi - I am very sorry you are facing the fear again, and I pray all turns out OK. Hang in there and have faith.

    The mother of a friend of mine was dignosed with bc in 1990's. She then had liver mets 3 years ago. She had 10% survival rate. This was 3 years ago. She is now cancer free.

    Believe you will be OK. Please keep us posted.

    I am so sorry you aren't feeling well and pray this isn't liver mets.. but if it is, all is not lost so hang in there.. There is a lady that posts on uterine and ovarian cancer boards, with liver mets. Her screen name is LindaProcopio. She mostly posts on ovarian because even though she has uterine, it's a very aggressive sort that more closely resembles ovarian. She just recently went thru radioembolism for her liver mets. If it turns out you do have liver mets, you might find her posts informative and reassuring.

    Hi Laurissa! I'm 11 years out of BC. I had Rt upper quadrant pain for years. 9 Years ago, they decided it was my Gall Bladder and removed it. No pain again till 8-9 mos ago. Rt upper quadrant pain again. I was on a cholesterol med which has a side effect of Liver function changes. My labs were slightly out of whack. I stopped the meds. Eventually, the labs returned to almost normal. then they were off again. They said this could be from the meds or a stone in the bile duct. It doesn't always mean liver . I was terrified that I might have Liver Cancer. I had an Ultrasound, then endoscopy and everything was normal. They changed my Cholesterol med and my pain has stopped. I'll have Labs drawn in the next few weeks. So, what I'm trying to say is that not all liver enzyme abnormalities automatically mean you have Liver Mets. Try to relax until you know for sure!     Laurissa I am praying it is
    Laurissa I am praying it is not liver mets too. holding your hand through this. My liver enzymes get wacky from the tamoxifen.

    My thoughts are with you. As others said liver problems not always are related to cancer and hopefully you will know for sure by Wednesday. Good luck with your scan, please stay positive.
