Scans, Biopsy, MRI..yuk
Friday evening I have an MRI of my brain.... Hopefully it will show I HAVE a brain! At this point I'm not sure...the MRI of the brain is because We've decided that my treatment will be a new experimental chemo drug, Tesetaxel...it is in clinical trials here and at Sloan Kettering...the MRI is protocol for the trial drug...it is an ORAL chemo taken once every three weeks...to me, this is a small blessing not to have the IV chemo again...now I have to get my BP down to qualify...I normally have "white coat hypertension"...but have to basically prove it...even though I have been on BP meds for years...
We're grateful and thankful it isn't anywhere else in my body but this is such a blow.....as I said before, I hate what this is doing to my husband, grown kids and my 4 precious grands... They are so fantastic... they're "circling the wagons"....my brother in law and sister in law stayed until after my oncologist appt yesterday then headed home...a10 hour drive....God Bless them!
So, I start this long journey again....I'm digging deep, still, for strength to get through this...how can I thank all of YOU for your prayers, concern and kindness....All of you mean so much to me.....Keep the prayers coming as I pray daily for all off us....

Nancy, I am so sorry to read
Nancy, I am so sorry to read that your cancer is back but so grateful that it was caught early. I hope you tolerate the chemo without too many side effects and once and for all, get rid of this beast. I'll be one rooting you on and sending all the positive vibes your way.
I, too, am back in the battle. We'll do this together. Take care and let your loved ones take care of you!!0 -

Thank God you caught it early and it's contained. You're a Fighter and will rule over this beast. Time to put your gloves on. We're all in your corner.
You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Nancy you are in my earnest
Nancy you are in my earnest prayers. Thank God that beast didnt travel anywhere else in your body. I know you have your boxing gloves on and are ready for that fight. Wish it wasnt so, but you got what it takes and you will beat it. We pinks are all here for you. Bunches and bunches of Hugs and Prayers. By the way, I know you have a Brain, and just in case you think not, you can always contact the Wizard of Oz. No worries. :)0 -
I "selectively" read ONLY
I "selectively" read ONLY the good news...that, aside from the tumor, the beast hasn't spread, that you get an oral chemo, that you are 99.9999% healthy ( which I am imagining will help your body to kick Cancers A$$) and, that you have the most amazing, supportive, right-by-your-side loving family! For the scary days, and the low times, and finding yourself on the journey you never wanted to be on~ you have all of the Kindreds here on the boards! You wondered how to thank us? We don't need thanks, sweet Nancy...you give to all of us just as we give to you. It is why we are here~ to hold each others hands and ♥ all the way through cyber-space.
Hugs,

Aw Nancy, so sorry to hear that the beast is back. I'm applauding your spirit as I type. We are all here to fight this battle with you. My prayers are with you and your family. xoxoxo Lynn
Prayers and good thoughts for you, your family and the medical teams treating you. I'm so sorry to hear that it's back, but glad it's contained in one area. Also, oral meds sound so much better than hours of IV infusions.
Keep up the fight and let us know when and how we can help.

Nancy, I think one of THE most important weapons any of us has in this fight is our sense of humor -- I mean, seriously, so much of what we go through is so absurd and unbelievable, that we "might as well laugh as to cry," as my grandpa would say.
So please fight hard to keep seeing the crazyfunny in this ("Is that like being a little bit pregnant?" LOL!), and make sure cancer knows it can't take laughter away from you.

You have a good sense of humor and are a positive person! I'm glad it did NOT spread and I'm praying they can erraticate that tumor quickly.

So sorry, Nancy
Oh Nancy, I'm sorry to hear your news, but you sure do have a great attitude! Glad that it's only in one spot and that it can be treated orally. I know that you will beat it! Hugs, Linda
Why did dr. say triple negative often returns above clavicle? I too am TN and had never heard that.0 -
