Sundance CT Scan Finally Scheduled *** (NEW UPDATE) ***

Well, I had blood and lab work today and a meeting with my onc. The first question out of his mouth was “Why haven’t you done scans?”

LOL:)

Apparently, I fell through the cracks, which is hard to imagine with my immense girth:)

Somehow, the orders never got to me so I was completely unaware and nobody ever called me to reschedule. All of this time just flying by and I’m wondering….When? You have to love technology – making our lives better all the time:)

I almost cancelled this appointment because initially I did not see anything to discuss. “How are you feeling?” Ok, pay the cashier on the way out:)

So, I figured I would show up and at least talks scan dates with him. He put in the order for a CT for chest, abdomen, and pelvis……“ASAP.”

Therefore, just like that, I am finally scheduled for tomorrow afternoon to take a couple of snapshots and see what really happened “inside there.”

Nervous? Excited? Hard to say, maybe a little of both. This is the post and the results I’ve been waiting on this past year – this is what I fought for – what I believed in – what I put myself through. And now we’re down to it…

You all know what I’m hoping for – I know it’s probably not permanent, but it could be, but only time and clean scans from here on will tell that story. Until then, I’m trying to buy some time and extend until I have to fight again. A year with no treaments or surgeries sounds pretty good about now.

If the news is good, we’ll savor this victory and if it’s not….then we got plenty of time to talk about that.

I should know something next week and will be releasing the “Results Post” right after that.

After a year’s worth of waiting, you don’t want to miss this one:) You’ll recognize the title instantly.

What’s done is now done – the results are already inside me, we just have to decipher the code – I can’t change anything – we fought hard and gave it what we had – and now the rest is out of my hands – I can only hope now and dream of better tomorrows.

You know, it’s funny, how the emotions never really fade away as the time rolls by – in fact, they might even be more intense than they ever were. After all of these years, you’d think I’d be jaded, but I still bubble with hope and optimism that something good will happen.

I've been so sick this past year and coming out of my last cycle, I am back at work, very tired by the end of day, but beginning to not feel that terrible "chemo feel." Depression has moved out (his lease was up) and Hope has moved back in.

I have no misgivings about my future, but feel ever so privileged to be able to share my story and journey with you and that I’ve got such incredible friends here and am a member of such a wonderful community.

And I hope it is good news that I can post to you...you know I like to write all kinds:)

Stay tuned. There’s still room in the “bandwagon” if anyone wants to jump back on, LOL:)

Keeping everyone in my thoughts and close to my heart.

-Craig

    good news to come
I love good news and I'm really looking forward to yours. There's no way I can wait a week! When I get a scan done, I can go to the hospital records room a day or two later and pick up a copy of the radiology report...I can also stop off at radiology and request a disc copy of the scan images, which are ready within 24 hours of request. Please, for our sakes if not your own, fetch your results instead of awaiting your onc's leisure?

    Well, Craig
I'm glad they finally got the ball rolling again. It seems it was dropped for a while and you were left on the sidelines. As you said "Ain't technology grand?". I'm certainly hoping for great new results for you.

Glad to see your area was spared the dam* tornados. Felt so bad for others. JBG in transit to Louisville for chemo today, so keeping fingers crossed.

    Luv,

    Wolfen

    Scan
Hoping for good scans results for you, just know that everything will be fine and you will be back to your old self real soon. I'm surprised that your doctor didn't go over when they wanted the scan done while you were going through chemo. Just curious why your doctor hadn't mentioned it.
