You mean the baseball team? Yeah, GO METS!
The non-word, non-acronym: "mets" is the short, lazy way of
saying "Metastasis".
There are some cute ways of saying or typing things that seem
to defy gravity, so don't get too overwhelmed when you can't
figure out what someone is referring to, just ask them on the
board, and let them explain.
Here's a (slightly) better link that includes some folky terms:
http://www.abbreviations.com/
"Mets" is included there..... FWIW.
Stay sane, and healthy.

Mets:
Mets means metastasis, i.e., I have mets to the liver means the colon cancer has metastized (spread) to the liver.
Ned - No evidence of disease
Nead - No evidence of active disease
PA - Physician's assistant
RFA - Radio frequency ablation
If there are any others just let us know. It takes a while to learn all the lingo.
Take care - Tina0 -
FYI
Marianne,
There is a great thread on the colonclub.com board. It gives a lot of medical terms and abbreviations.

thanks everyone for your information. I printed a copy so I'd have it handy and I think (not sure) that I saved it as a favorite here so maybe I won't have to be a pest again.
