Need biopsy or surgery to diagnose cancer
Welcome to this discussion board; I don't know how you are going to manage your wife's health care without insurance--so sorry that you are in this position.
Unfortunately, there is no blood test, x-ray, CT scan, MRI or ultrasound test that can tell you if your wife has cancer or not. Sometimes the x-ray doesn't show cancer of the lung--need to have a special CT scan to find that. It looks likely that your wife will be facing surgery.
The cancer diagnosis was pronounced on me about 7 months after I intentionally lost 35 pounds. I have heard other women comment that they intentionally lost weight THEN were dealing with ovarian cancer. I have wondered whether the estrogen from the fat played a part in disrupting the cells.
Best wishes...please keep us posted. We would love to hear that it is nothing more than a spontaneous pneumothorax and benign ovarian cyst.0 -

Maybe you can find a free clinic in your area that will run a blood test for CA-125...but I agree, your wife may still need surgery.0
