Positive results from my last chemo
My CA125 has halved (211 - 122) and eventhough it is still quite high my doctor is really pleased as it started off at 1,288. My Ct scan is clear so they are happy to leave me alone and just monitor me every 8 weeks. I said I was a bit scared to leave it 8 weeks so I am to go every 4 weeks.
He also said they are more concerned with how well or ill I am feeling as this is a better indicator for me than my numbers. So unless my numbers go sky high it will depend on how I feel. Also if I can go more than 6 months without the numbers flaring up or I become ill I can go back on carbo/taxol as it really works for me. Alternatively if I need chemo under 6 months it will be topotecan.

Whoo Hoo!!!! Those good
Whoo Hoo!!!! Those good scans rock, don't they? I wanted to kiss Dr S when he said mine couldn't be more perfect. I was so scared, I popped an anti-anxiety pill before the appointment - something I never do.
The scan really is the final word. If the beast were back, they would have seen it. The numbers may continue to drop, even though you aren't on chemo. And feeling good is what it's all about.
Love the blonde look!

Wonderful! Thank you for sharing your good news. I think you have also helped to illustrate that the CA125 number is very individual and not meaningful on its own.
