    Welcome back!
    Hey Hondo,
Welcome back! You sure have been through so much these past 5 years. But from what I've gotten out of reading your posts, you are a fighter, so please believe that there's some light at the end of the tunnel. I don't know if you remember me, but my husband Tom passed away a year ago on the 25th of March from lung cancer. So I was his caregiver, but only lasted 2 months.
I agree with you about feeling sad & crying when reading some of these posts. There are so many of us who have lost our spouses or who are fighting this damn disease and it does get depressing sometimes to read them. But all of us whether we have cancer or have cared for someone & lost them understand how each of us feel. Please Hondo, know that we're here for you and don't want you to give up. Please take care and keep working on getting your mouth open to 40mm!!! I know you can do it! Carole

    Hi Carole

You are the kind of person that is just too hard to forget, yes I remember Tom and how said I was to hear the news. I am just so glad that you stayed behind and continue to help others everyday who are just starting or been there a while. You are a blessing to this site and to the people you help.

Thank you so much for giving

    Hondo,

I am glad to hear that you got rid of that nasty sinus infection and happy to hear that you are working on improving the jaw expansion.

I have to agree with all the others Hondo, you provide sound advice and are the Rock. You have been through allot and traveled several roads.

My Best to You and Everyone Here

    Hi Marine

Thanks for being a friend my friend.

    All the best

    Good to Hear from you
You have truly been an inspiration. I 'lurk' often, your posts are always so uplifting. You encourage everyone on the board.
So glad to hear that the sinus infection is finally going away. My son fights those often, even lost his job because he was sick too often.
Being able to open your mouth more is great, go fishing--fish is one of the easier things that I have found to eat. I know dental work is important--but I never look forward to those appointments. I did go to the dentist last week, good report. They want to do e-rays next visit, I smiled and said I would bring my lidocane, it got me through the last weeks of the mask during radiation, I saved the extra.
God Bless you and your family and your 'Seeing eye' wife!

You will not believe this but the Wife will be in Tampa again on the 21st for a wedding but I don’t get to go again, life never seams fare. But that is OK I just got to find a good reason or excuse somehow for me to go, problem is I don’t have one. If I tell her just to go fishing I don’t think that will fly. lol

Thanks my friend I will make it hopefully soon

Great to hear of the progress. Does make one wonder how well our systems are equipped to avoid such as infections, and the like, after all the rad damage. Seems our regualar Drs. should be especially aware of our post-treatment vulnerability to this sort of thing, and be more prone to giving us the antibiotics needed.

As for the crying thing- truly does sadden me to the hilt every time I've gone to see the Onco, and am sitting in the lobby with those who have active C. All of us can step into their shoes, as we have been there. But I also realize some of those people do not have H&N, and their C doesn't have the success rate of our H&N. And it really is a sad thing, but also a good thing to be there and feel for them. And a Prayer.

If any of us is deserving of a good break, Tim, it is you. And I hope Houston and your locals can help keep the physical for you moving Positively forward. Know the Lord is with you, now and forever.

    Thanks Hondo
So glad to hear the sinus infection is over. Great job with the jaw opener. It must be quite a difference and real solid progress. All kinds of fun foods can fit now huh? I get the good days/bad days thing. I seem to have good hours/bad hours some days. And then there's good weeks/bad weeks. Even good months/bad months now that I think about it. Nice to be here no matter what though. Always enjoy and appreciate your posts. Praying for you regularly. Nice to read they're answered.

    Hi Bob

I still look forward to someday ridding with you up and down some of those trails. And who knows maybe someday I will do it, I also want to skydive but my wife will not let me do that.

    Take care my friend

    Becoming one unit
Hondo, I haven't been posting much lately. But when I read it and some of the replys just had to.

There is something about dealing with cancer , I think, that takes each of us to a place that no other ailment can. It reachs the deepest part of our soul...and makes us feel the
maximun of joy and the deepest of despair. It takes us to the rawest of emotions...that we
become one unit...each of us connected to the other. In the past week...I have felt the utter joy of having a breeze touch me....and the total rawest feeling of despair at someone elses pain. It's seems like an understanding of life that few could ever know had they not
been in this situation. And it doesn't seem to make any difference as to the stage of treatment or recovery they are in. They feel it...they get it. It takes away all pretenses
one had before and transforms them. Non of us will ever be the same again. And here...I am speaking of our deepest part...our soul.

I just had to say that...just to let you and others maybe know....we are really, truely connected. And without CSN...I might not have realized this.

But, as always...I will keep you in my prayers. And I do a lot of that lately...more then ever. And, yeah Ratface...post that picture of you skipping down the driveway. Thats one I don't want to miss. Bless you Hondo...you truely are an inspiation. Roze

    Better Days
Hi, Hondo. Let me join all the others in wishing you well. This is truly good news and I hope and pray for your further recovery. Yeah, the beast sure heightens our emotions, both good and bad, doesn't it? I, also, find myself crying sometimes for no apparent reason, but don't tell anybody because tough former Marines aren't supposed to cry. Thanks for being there for so many people who can look at your example and get strength to carry on through the dark days. Be well.
