wish me luck, playing ct scan roulette UPDATE
THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOU PRAYERS AND KIND THOUGHTS. IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME.
pete
posting from my mobile as i sip ioscan gicat scan concentrated solution. It tastes
horrible. Got 2 more saches to go at 20min interval and in an hour i
can really start my turn on ct roulette.
Today i am getting the abdominal and chest scan. Its been 6months.
My next ct was mentioned by doctors. But it had slipped my mind until
this morning when i emailed gi surgeon and called onc. They are both so good.
They were supposed to talk but booked me into two different places at the same time. One was a week away and the othe well was that afternoon. So here i am.
I don't feel nervous. The results get sent to both doctors automatically. I don't want to pickup anything and stare at the results envelope.
I see the big round magnetron of the ct is like a roulette wheel. Spin the wheel and see if you win. Loose or draw.
I refuse to take my fate too seriously. Even though i invest effort and energy in all the treatments and alternatives.
I prefer trying to maintain a detached healthy curiousity about my future.
If you play ct roulette yourself well i just hope you always win. I have the same wish for myself.
No cost. Great service. I live in the lucky country.
Hugs.
Pete

Hold tight
I'll be on the edge of my seat waiting for your results, Pete!
Hoping and praying that it will be good news! I'm living kind of vicariously from those who have had good news on their scans this week (Jennie and Buzz), wanting it for you too (& of course for myself!)
Hang tight!

Will be sending positive thoughts to you
down under! You are the ROCK! and you have such a good attitude for such a stressful situation! I dislike waiting and it is hard to not worry - even a little bit. But what do we learn from worrying? only get a few more wrinkles! Prayers coming your way!
hugs!

I had the ct with contrast, I'd forgotten about the nasty taste and the really hot flush when they inject you.
Did you know they pump it into your arm vien and then ct contrast gets pumped around your body to all your vessels. what I did not know is they only have a 90 second window to get the ct scan done after pumping you. as it starts to get filtered straighaway and the contrast benefit I presume is lost past 90 seconds. then our poor kidneys have prurify our blood of this crap. the joys of being a cancer patient.
It was over before I knew it, the nurses were hilarious. I got a great photo of my playing around on the ct scanner. I found myself praying while getting scanned. strange time to pray, hey. I should pray more but at least when I do its pretty genuine.
Will let you know the results, when I do.
hugs,

Hi Pete,

I said something similar to my daughter who is very upset about my cancer diagnosis:
IT is what IT is,
IT will be what IT will be,
Don't let IT come between us.
Otherwise, we're uITs and that's just silly0 -
