I haven't had this happen tuffgirl, and, I am so sorry that you are having to go thru this again. I pray that it is NOT cancer, and, that it will be scar tissue. Please keep us updated.
Praying for you,
Susie
I had the pain of not knowing. It was just when they were prepping me for my lumpectomy they found a new lump.I was upset. My doctor put off getting the needle biopsy done by the Breast Center. After the needle biopsy they knew they were removing a malignant one but now a new one.The operation was a success with the malignant being very very tiny and the new tumor benign.
Then a second surgery was scheduled 2 weeks later to check for margins. Then 2 days before that surgery I felt a swelling.Since surgery was done 2 weeks prior I thought it was fluid.I saw the doctor just before being wheeled in surgery and told him about the new place. He said We'll see when we get in.Another benign tumor.
I remember 44 years ago my doctor found 2 tumors. I was only 20 years old.I thought one is OK but to have 2 meant I had cancer and it had spread. They were benign .That was a long time ago. I have long history of benign tumors and a family history of breast cancer. The breast cancer hit me almost 2 years ago.
I wish you the best and hopefully the other tumor or tumors are benign. The odds are for you since 80% of the tumors are benign.

Dear Tuffgirl:
First cancer was 0 Stage DCIS. Two surgical biopsies kept stating margins were not clear. Decided to be extremely aggressive and opted for contralateral mastectomy. Outcome no cancer. Lymph nodes clear. No chemo. No radiation. No Arimidex. I was home free! (Age: 65)
Recurrence happened 3 years later on scar of breast that had the DCIS. This cancer was invasive carcinoma. Doctor said that it was from the first cancer. MRI, Bone Scan, and CT Scan showed no further cancer in body. Outcome was 31 radiation sessions. Arimixdex. Then Anastrozole. Now on Femara (first day today for Femara). (AgeL 68)
Now 70 years and I plan on living into my 90's. The point is that I am doing fine!!!!! Good luck to you and keep us posted as to what is happening.
Lots of Hugs,

Sounds like my dx.Stage 0 DCIS.Margins clear after second surgery and another benign tumor was found. No chemo and radiation but taking tamox.I think you are the first one I've met that also wasn't given chemo or radiation and was DCIS Stage 0.Most at least get radiation.
I am 64.I think all the time I will be living till I'm in my 90's.I have 3 aunts that are. We have to think positive even though some days we don't feel that way.

Lots of lumps for me
I have found every lump because there has been pain in the area. That includes cancerous lumps 14 years ago. I didn't seem to look unless I had a pain and then probed the area. I always tell people now not to check them selves before a holiday or on the holiday because it can be a long two weeks if you actually find something. Finding my first lump ruined my planned vacation and turned out to be the longest days of my life. I had been ill for a lengthy period of time yet doctors told me I was good could find nothing and now I was finding a lump in breast. It was still 7 months before I could get anyone to take my ill health seriously and actually do some diagnositic tests. It was hard for the doctors to even believe I had it since it really never met any of the standard criteria for a cancer. The lump as it turned out was nothing like normal tumors and very agressive at the age of 36.
All to date since being treated for my breast cancer I have found 7 lumps and still don't know what a couple are now but don't worry they tell me... So I am moving on and living the life I have and trying not to get sucked back into it all, how easily that can happen at least for me just because of all the fear that can surface.
Funny I never thought in a million years that doctors would still be saying not cancerous but do not know what it is. Is that good enough I have to wonder.

My Mom's did...
My Mom's breast cancer was 1st diagnosed in March of 2010--left upper outer quad, STG I, 1.1-cm. I forget the ER/PR/HER2/neu results but do remember that her OncoDX test results was at a very high risk for recurrence. She had a lumpectomy w/ lymph node dissection, XRT, & Famara.
Almost a year to the date, at the age of 72, her breast came back in the same exact place, only bigger--STG II, 2-cm, same ER/PR/HER2/neu as last year. So this time, she has a simple left mastectomy and just recently started chemo--Taxotere & Cytoxan.
