Aortus How are you doing
I know that you post occasionally and I am so glad that you are still here. I love that you have the picture of you and Moopy for your avatar. I know in my heart she is still with us but I love seeing her smiling face and you with your arm around her. I hope that your sense of loss is gradually being replaced with the myriad of happy moments and memories. I was re-reading an old post and it made me smile. I think of you often and my prayers are that you are plunging ahead with life. To me losing someone affects us the way our cancers themself do, we have to find a new "normal". It's not easy but it happens sometimes quickly and sometimes ever so slow. I think that all of the other gals here feel the way I do, the board would not be the same without our dear brother, Joe, so don't leave. You have so much to often in support, advice, humor and just in every darn way. 2011 is not starting out very well but I hold tight to all my family here. I keep all in my prayers and good thoughts and I plan to keep my candle lit for those that are no longer here and for those that are. It is my eternal flame of hope and caring.
Stef
PS I understand the love of bacon. I rarely have it but I love it.

I love bacon
and I echo Stef's sentiments. I'm always so pleased to see you chiming in, Joe, and usually with that wry humor I so enjoy. I worry about you and hope you're getting where you need to be emotionally in your own way and timing.
Thanks, Stef, for saying what's in my heart.
I love you all in ways only all of us can understand:)

If anyone ever discovers that bacon causes breast cancer...
...then I'll just leave this earth with a greasy smile on my face....I mean seriously, a life without bacon is like a day without sunshine...
...or a board without our dear Aortus! I miss you too, Joe, and hope that you'll check in with us as often as you feel up to it. You are part of this family, and always will be -- hold that tight in your heart.
And keep us posted on that Mid-Life Crisis Car purchase!

Sweet Stef...
Thank you, friend, for putting into such eloquent words what so many of us are feeling regarding our dear Aortus.
Although I do not have formal "permission" to speak (write, more accurately, I guess) on Joe's behalf... For the sake of all those here concerned about him - I believe he returned to full time work this week.
Kind regards, Susan0 -

I am hanging in there the best I can. Moopy always made it clear to me that if she were to go before me that giving up would not be an option. When I'm home I still especially feel Moopy's nearness to me, and when I'm not home, I depend on the prayers and good thoughts that I can feel coming to me from the Kindred Spirits every hour of every day... just as I am always thinking of and praying for all of you. And just as I truly believe Moopy is doing for all of us now, all the time. I'll still have a Valentine this Valentine's Day; it's just that my Valentine is in Heaven already.0 -

it is good to hear that
Joe,
it is good to hear that you are doing what Moopy would have wanted and getting on with life. And we kindred spirits will always be here for you. You are just one of the dearest of the dears.
I have said this before. I read long ago in a story (The Little Prince, I think) that the stars in the heaven are those that we have lost and the twinkling of the stars is their laughter. Whenever I look up and see the stars bright in the sky and twinkling, I think of those I have lost and it makes me smile to know that they are all there laughing and full of joy. I know that Moopy has to be one of the brightest, twinkliest stars up there because she glowed and twinkled when she was here. She will always be your Valentine.

You truly are an spectacular man. Tears are streaming down my face as I think of the love you and Moopey have for each other. I use the word have because the love is still here and always will be. So many can learn to celebrate their love by your example. Thank you for staying on the board.

yes i am sure your sweet angel would never ever want you to give up. and i am glad you can feel her nearness as she is and will be watching over her dear Aortus. Love lives on and never leaves us.I know you will carry that love close to your heart always.
as you well know you were one of the first friends i had here...paving the way for our Moopy, being the most supportive and optimistic hubby anyone could have wanted. Your love for each other was such a blessing and we all delighted in it.
I would like to thank you for being there for me each step of the way as Moopy and i stumbled through it together, I cherished her friendship as I cherish yours. You will remain in my prayers Joe. It makes me happy that you are staying in touch with us because you are loved by us all....you can be our baconator valentine and your beloved will be smiling and waiting for you in the most georgeous garden of all.
Huge big bear hugs to you and please share some of that bacon with your pups... xxoo

Joe I apologize for not acknowledging "our brother" in past posts.I was in the throws of BC treatment and wanted to know what the women who had gone before me had to say.
I must say I admire you so very much. We should all have a man as caring, concerned and loving as you have been with Moopy. You have encouraged other husbands and have encouraged the pink sisters who had guys lacking in compassion, concern and love.
Thank you for being a part of us. I love your photo it speaks so much of you and Moopy and the love you have for each other. I see her smiling face looking down from heaven on of all us.0 -

Good thoughts and prayers are coming your way. And Moopy was right about not giving up--don't ever give up--for our sakes as much as yours. We want our loved ones to be happy and healthy and to live life to the fullest. Keep fighting as your Kindred Spirits fight!0 -

Natly, you have nothing at all to apologize for. We all speak a language that regularly uses "he," "his," and "him" even when referring to someone who is a "she," "hers," "her." I can hardly complain about being mixed in with the sisters. In fact, I consider it a tremendous honor to be mixed in with these beautiful and heroic sisters, here on the CSN board.
Besides, I still have this goofy leopard print winter hat that Moopy used to wear when she was feeling a little goofy herself. I wear it outside fairly regularly, and it probably makes me look extremely goofy, but you know what? I couldn't care less. It's kinda fun to go out and rock my feminine side a little bit!
Love,

Always in my prayers.........
I think about you and the Moopster very often. Bittersweet when thinking of Lisa, as I miss her very much, but am so incredibly blessed to have known her. Yeah, I know, she is probably up there rolling her eyes and blushing. But it's the thruth.
You, I worry about, of course. I think and I hope that if you ever need a shoulder, or I should say shoulders, that you will come and talk to us. You have been there so many times for us...
Hugs,
CR0
