You should know as well as anyone...
Usually, especially getting back into it, your endurance will more than likley come back fairly fast...that is if your body is ready. If not, it'll let you know....
Rest when your body tells you, build when you feel good....
Best,
John
I just joined a Gym last months and so far all I do is watch my wife and other people working out. I am afraid that I might pull something out of place if I do anything; my wife said just start out a little at a time and build your self up to it but don’t over do it. So this week coming that is my plan, a little at a time.
Take care

now that I do have some strength and stamina I am in the final stages of building the new kitchen I promised the wife nearly 5 years ago.......It began as a bedroom, then a storage room since I renovated another room for our new bedroom(before the "C" came along)..Now I am very close to completion and she even made herself biscuits in there this morning...Still have to finish tile back splash and some odds and ends but I feel damn proud to almost be done...I am back to working my regular job but only half days as Construction beats me to death and I am worn completely out by about 12:30..but I am working and making a contribution to the household...I come home, rest a bit and tinker in the kitchen, rest,go tinker some more, rest then kick back in the bed beside my Beck and we watch some tv.
Our vacations have been canceled 2 years in a row now since I can't eat anything and walk for very long at a time, but it is a wonderful feeling every morning when my feet touch the floor and I once again realize I am alive..... )
After the kitchen is done.......I am building a new laundry room and a master closet....and all this is being done in the 100 year old building where we live.I love what I am doing and love it even more to be able to give my wife the things she wants.

Good advice, my body is definitely trying to tell me something.
Standard reply, "it takes time"
Thanks

Mike,
The first time I went to workout post treatment was pretty similar to your experience. I started off with a slow jog of 5 minutes (felt like 35 minutes) and was sweating bullets afterwards. Next a wee bit of free weights and I'm sure my grandmother could have lifted more than I did that day. The next time I ran 6 minutes and increased 1 minute each succeeding run. It wasn't that long before I was up to running 3-4 miles. Just keep at it slow but steady. Cheers

Glad to have you here with us on CSN. In 2001 my wife and I started repairing our home then in 2002 my C came and put a stop on it for a few years. But little by little over the years we would do so much and finally in November 2011 we completed it. Now we look back at what we done and laugh and say work that would have only took a year to do we did it in 10, I look at her and say, just glad to be alive.
All the best to you my friend and hope you plan on staying with here on CSN.

When my wife and I met.........This was your basic bachelor place....I've redone the bath and had the kitchen plans pretty much ironed out............Then "IT" arrived....
This building had some structural issues,so about 45% of our hardwood floors were removed and the contractor took 6 months to finish so the house was a dust factory with stuff covered in plastic.Slowly but surely as he finished a room,it was redone....Dining room was repaired and repainted, but bedroom stayed as storage for quite a while after the floors were refinished..........Now is it the new kitchen and hopefully it will be completely functional this weekend although small things will still be going on...My Beck will have her kitchen complete with dishwasher and she will be happy, which in turn makes me happy..If I were still single I imagine the old 2 room kitchen would still be in use.
Marriage does do positive things in many, many ways.....*big smile*

fisrpotpe,
I'm assuming that's a tat? Cool one!! Still looking for one to get when I hit 1 year out. Have to add that one to my list of possibilites for this April. Who knows, I could become the illustrated man with all the ones I like.
Greg
Greg, yes it is a tattoo. I always liked the wrist bans but my wrists are so large the bands are not loose. I saw someone have a tattoo on their neck and had the idea of have a wrist band with head and neck cancer colors. A couple days later I though of putting on hand and had it done the day before my 15th anny. in mid january. I can say I am surprised not many people have noticed in almost a month. I like it no doubt. I am not a tatto believer but in this case it's fine and do not intend to get any more.
