LONG TERM THRIVER HERE!

Hi everyone! Most of you are not going to know me as I haven't been active on these boards for about 12+ years. For some reason I felt compelled to come on here today and check in and see if there were any names I remember from back in the days of our Colonpaloozas and such.

I was dx'ed Stage 3 adenocarcinoma of the sigmoid colon in 2001. I opted to not do any chemo but used natural and alternative protocols to heal post surgery. I just wanted to say I'M STILL HERE ON THIS EARTH and to encourage any of you who are at the beginnings of this cancer journey into the unknown.

It's possible!

Wow Awesome for you, I was diagnosed Stage 3 had surgery and had decided not to chemotherapy, then had went to liver and basically said surgery was not an option, I was ready to start chemo, then he said I would have to do it forever, who does chemo forever, I just couldn’t accept that, it helps with symptoms. Well none of that had hope anywhere for me, at this moment since my diagnosis of stage 3 and surgery it has been 1 year, and now I sit here, yes I have symptoms, a few good days and some bad days. So I guess I wait, it’s amazing people on here doing well, I seem to have no hope gave to me, even now with any my symptoms I figure out how to myself. So happy you have been doing great!

2bhealed, it's ironic I would find your post as I am in a similar situation. I signed on here right after my diagnosis of Stage 3C in 2018. I was…around but didn't post a lot as it seemed many were in similar situations but, it was heartening to read success stories.

Now, some 7 years later I am still cancer free! My last CT scan was about 2 weeks ago and was stable with no changes and my last oncologist appt. was the first of Feb. and all blood work within normal ranges. After going over all the results of tests my oncologist told me, "Vic, you can't be any more normal". (content removed by CSN admin)

As with yourself I haven't been around. Been busy with other things, mostly getting used to now being in my 70's and this old age thing…lol!

God bless all of you who have recovery stories and those of you in whatever stage of the battle you're in. (content removed by CSN admin)

Welp, if thanking God and praising God is removed, there is no place for me here. I'll sign off. Delete my account.

I'm not sure what you're referencing here? You can PTL all you want on my thread. Did something happen?

That's amazing. As a caregiver, I really need those stories because it's a long journey with many ups and downs. Recently, I found this website with so many interesting stories as well - maybe you can share your story there to inspire even more people: https://patientsavvy.org/patient-story/

Diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer back in Jan/24. Have done both chemo and radiation for almost a year. Finished treatments and now in remission. Just had my check and I’m good for another 5 months. I like the stories of long term remissions. I’m looking for natural diets and remedies to extend life as much as I can.

My support system with family and friends is great and I like spending time with each and every member of my circle of trust.

Hope all of us have a long happy life.

I love that you’ve been healthy so long! Congrats! Very inspiring that you’ve take such good care of yourself for so long. I’m new here. Thankfully surgery was successful for my stage 2 diagnosis but MD is 50-50 re chemo for me, said I was intermediate risk. Now I’m trying to make the decision, whether or not I should take it. I already was pretty careful in my eating, so…?
