Seeking Long-term Survivors of Esophageal Cancer

Well I can identify with everything you are going through. Gaviscon can help a little if you catch the bile early. I use the chewables but there is also a liquid. it has something in it that supposedly coats the GI tract to calm things down. But it's still a band-aid. Some people swear by a few pieces of airpopped popcorn before bedtime to stop the bile but I stopped that after 1 nite - choking and made the bile worse.
I get really angry at times because I went to a well-known cancer hospital for my surgery and their after-care prep was worthless. I know every one's body will respond differently but there are obviously some predictable outcomes that patients should be advised of and then instructed on how to handle, don't you think?
You sure have been through a lot but you clearly have a lot of resilience!
