Joe Tippen's personal story of battling cancer. He was given 3 months to live. His story is certainly different let's say but when your life is in the balance that changes things. I am just going to leave a link to his blog covering the whole story and my friends you can draw your own conclusions. It is a worthwhile read. It is a true story and Joe is still alive today.

Joe is a financial strategist and executive with over 30 years of experience. For the last 13 years, he was the CEO of Strategic Capital Group LLC and SCG Advisors LLC (Vero Beach, FL), an investment management firm he co-founded.

Joe Tippen Quote: "I am a big OSU fan and I bleed orange. To that end, I belong to an OSU message board where we get online and cuss/discuss OSU sports. Two days after coming home from being told I’ve got 0% chance to survive, I read a post on the OSU sports board that simply said “If you have cancer or know someone who does, give me a shout” I had known the author of that post (and his sons) for a very long time, so I picked up the phone and called him.

Russ thank you so much. I'm still trying to navigate this site so I'm a bit worried you won't see this!! I am so very grateful for all of this info and appreciate the time you've taken. I'm so lost in all this. I feel like an idiots. I'm so overwhelmed. I don't know where to start.

Very well, Suz I see you found the Tippens posting. It can be overwhelming to research something.

You will find it takes time to sort things out so try to be patient with yourself.

Break it down into pieces, do one article or video at a time. search one subject at a time and then as you get more knowledge all the pieces come together and you see the story or answer you were looking for.

Also in your original post, there is much more new information posted there so please take a look and it I can be of any further help please feel free to let me know.

question- I just finished 3 rounds of FolFlox and 1 of FolFiri. After the irinotecan, I have have lightheadedness & dizziness. Met with thoracic surgeon who will do lobectomy & three wedge cuts in May. Because I won’t be on chemo for awhile, started fenbendazole & ivermectin protocol 11 days after last chemo. Since then, my tiredness seems worse. So I’m wondering if the nadir from irinotecan or could it be the fenbendazole. Anyone have issue with tiredness in Tippen’s protocol? Thanks

JerLynn, glad to hear from you. Sorry, you are going through treatment and also sorry you are getting a lobectomy in May. I can't imagine going through all this but I have been through some tough stuff and if you had asked me ahead of time if I could do it I would have said no, but here I am and I don't know how I did it. I imagine you are in a similar situation and somehow we do what we have to do.

So to start with I will say when going through just about any cancer-fighting regimen you are probably going to feel tired. Your system is thrown out of wack with different medications and treatments, your sleeping pattern may be messed up and many medications do cause tiredness and drowsiness.

I don't have any direct personal experience with what you are going through but I started by looking up Folfox which is a chemotherapy drug. I found a page with lots of info and if you scroll down the page a ways you will come to the side effect possibilities which could add to tiredness including anemia and stating fatigue as an after-effect in itself….

Also the drug FolFiri you were on has a host of side effects including stating outright "tiredness and weakness". I also found a great page of that covering use, dosage, cycles of how it is given and after-effects…

If I am correct you are stating that previous to these 2 drugs you had received another drug "irinotecan" and this is another drug that has quite a list of side effects including specifically what you are questioning. Some of the stated side effects are Feeling dizzy, sleepy, tired, or weak.

JerLynn you are and have taken some very powerful drugs here and it is no wonder you are feeling tired. All drugs have a long list of side effects so there are risks with all of them. I think your tiredness is just part of the process here still hanging on from previous drugs and the ones you are taking now and you will have to rest as much as possible as you need it.

I looked up Fendbendazole and here is a good page of information on it…it seems less hazardous than regular cancer drugs…

I think it could just be the wear and tear on your body from the treatments, stress, etc.

Hopefully, you can soon beat this and then you can rehabilitate and get your strength and stamina back.
